Jet Airways launched 144 new flights. Book now!

All right. File this in the winning mode. There is some smart stuff going on with Jet Airways, and this looks pretty cool. There are 144 Jet Airways new flights without adding new planes. All this before they prepare to add eight new Boeing 737 Max 9 planes later this year.

The airline is introducing a whole bunch of weekend-only flights from their metro cities. To make space for these flights on their calendar, they are reducing flights on routes such as Mumbai-Delhi & Mumbai-Bangalore on the weekend and using these slots to operate flights to locations such as Amritsar & Patna. All these new flights are starting on March 25, 2018!

Jet Airways Boeing 737

There will be weekend-only flights on 22 routes from Mumbai, Delhi, and other cities. Jet Airways will add industry-first direct flights from Mumbai and Delhi to cities in North East such as Aizawl, Imphal, and Jorhat. For instance, there will be thrice a week flights to Aizawl & Jorhat, and four times a week flights to Silchar & Imphal from Delhi.

From Pune, the airline is launching non-stop flights to Patna, Raipur, and Chandigarh. Additionally, Jet Airways begins a daily, non-stop service between Mumbai and Tiruchirappalli, and a hop service between Tiruchirappalli and Delhi.

Among other network enhancements, summer 2018 will also see Jet Airways connect Amritsar with non-stop from Mumbai for the first time. This competes with the direct flight from Vistara on the same route. They had a one-hop flight from Mumbai to Delhi and over to Amritsar.

Bengaluru will get the addition of flights to Indore and Patna. Additionally, Jet Airways will also connect Patna with non-stop flights to Mumbai, now that Patna is a 24/7 operational airport.

Here is the entire schedule of new flights. Remember, if you book before March 31, 2018, you get 1000 JPMiles per leg as well.

Jet Airways new flights

I see this as a pretty cool strategy on the part of Jet Airways, who are changing tack after a long time and opening up such a huge number of new routes in one go. So what are you guys waiting for? I am already looking at trips to make!

What are you booking on the new Jet Airways schedule?

  1. Excellent utilization of their resources.
I wish to see them adding some international routes viz. Australia, East Africa, Far East and West Coast US.
Hope they take their Dream)liners soon.

    • Vinay Dube (CEO) has clearly stated in a recent interview that SLOW domestic expansion is their priority and reviewing/optimising existing intl routes and wide body aircraft as well. Taking in dreamliners is on indefinite hold (god knows if they have cancelled them as well) and new intl routes will be very slow to launch. @Ajay – feel free to update us if you know more. I would like to fly a jet airways 787 in J with HD inflight entertainment to LHR soon! Getting tired of the tacky old screens, but given the only alternative direct flights from BOM are BA or AI, 9W always wins!
