Jet Airways is preparing to start the Mumbai – Paris route with effect from May 14, 2014 using one of their Airbus A330-200 aircraft. As per RoutesOnline, this service will be a day service from Mumbai to Paris, arriving there in the evening, and turning around the same night to get back into Mumbai next morning.

Tickets are already on sale for this route. What is interesting to note, is that there is also cooperation with SkyTeam more often now, with this route into Paris, and the potential move of Jet’s European hub to Amsterdam from Brussels.
This comes on the back of another report where Jet Airways will start to operate Abu Dhabi – New York JFK on behalf of its new partner Etihad Airways from May 1, 2014 on a Jet Airways 777-300ER. For this operation, it would be interesting to see if Jet Airways will be subject to the brand standard of Etihad or that of their own airline. And if this will be a Jet Airways flight with EY codeshare on it or EY flight.

It’s in the system as an EY flight operated by Jet metal. So it’s a wet-lease I guess. My thought is they’ll leave the Jet Airways paint and have some element of Jet Airways service (similar to the CDG-AUH cooperation between AF/EY)
The CDG flight is especially interesting because it departs CDG at night. It’s a great connection for pax traveling from the US (West Coast especially) to India via CDG. As of now, most pax use AF217/8 that leaves CDG at 10am. Most of the West Coast flights land in Paris after 11am resulting in an overnight layover if you don’t want an extra connection in the US.
