An early morning Mumbai-Delhi flight operated by Jet Airways, 9W339, was diverted to Ahmedabad this morning after the crew located a disturbing letter in the washroom of the plane.
9W 339 took off on its routine flight to Delhi, however, a note with a hijack threat was found in the toilet by the cabin crew, and the pilot alerted Ahmedabad airport about it. The plane landed at Ahmedabad at 3:45 AM and headed to a remote bay. You can read the note for yourself.

Following the incident, the person who planted the note on the plane was taken under arrest. The aviation minister clearly did not like this (neither would anyone else!) So he has recommended that this person should be put on the no-fly list.
I am informed that person responsible for Jet flt 339 (Mum-Del) incident causing the landing at Ahmedabad today morn. has been identified

I am advising the Airlines to put him on the No-Fly list immediately, in addition to other statutory criminal action.

As per a news channel, the person caught for the crime was a habitual offender. He has carried a cockroach with him in the past and then claimed to find the cockroach in his food.
The flight took off for Delhi 6 hours later after detailed questioning of all the passengers and crew on board, and some air marshals too.
Clearly, this is not cool! I’ve heard all sorts of people making hoax calls to airlines to delay a flight so that they could catch the plane. That is not cool. This is not acceptable at all. Of course, he deserves to never fly again, and an example needs to be set for everyone who does stuff like this to bother the airlines, crew and everyone else on board.
Apparently he is a “rich businessman” and frequent flyer of Jet. How embarrassingly stupid and irresponsible.
My theory is that he wanted to land in Ahmedabad (he is from there) and could not find a direct flight and was expert in avgeekness enough to know what protocol will be followed based on this prank. Obviously did not work out at all for him though.
These animals should be put on the do-not-use-oxygen list.
