Jet Airways’ gourmet food festival in the air till Nov 8!

Jet Airways is trying to get back into classy mode it seems. In the past, they’ve tied up with restaurants in Hong Kong to provide dining services to their premium cabin passengers on the Hong Kong – Mumbai flights. Now, there is a new fine dining experience being rolled out from November 1 through 8 on selected Mumbai – Delhi and Delhi – Mumbai flights, being called “Restaurants in the Sky.”

Jet Airways has tied up with some fantastic restaurants from the Oberoi Group (which is one of India’s leading luxury hotel chain) to present meals to their Premiere (business class) customers on specific flights in this coming week. Here are the 5-star restaurants they’ve tied up with:

  • Ziya (The Oberoi, Mumbai): Ziya is run under the twice Michelin-starred chef Vineet Bhatia, and is one of my personal favourites for Indian food while in Mumbai.
  • threesixtyone (The Oberoi, Gurgaon): threesixtyone is the all day dining restaurant at The Oberoi, Gurgaon and has quite a line-up of world cuisine.
  • Amaranta (The Oberoi, Gurgaon): The Oberoi Gurgaon’s fine dining Indian coastal restaurant offers cuisine from nine coastal regions of the country.

The food festival includes the following portions:

  • A welcome drink
  • Appetisers
  • Indian snack
  • Main Entree
  • Dessert

The following flights with lunch or dinner service will host the food festival:

Mumbai – Delhi: 9W 351 (13:35-15:35), 9W 309 (19:10 – 21:10), 9w 361 (20:20 – 22:20)

Delhi – Mumbai: 9W 306 (11:55 – 13:55), 9w 352 (14:00 – 15:55), 9W 354 (19:45 – 21:45), 9W 312 (20:45 – 22:45)

I’m taking at least one of these flights, but a little after the food festival is ending, but for those of you on those flights, enjoy the meals. Send me some pictures as well.

Good job, Jet Airways!
