Earlier this morning, I put out a reminder that the move to Jet Airways’ Fare Choices was to be implemented from today, but it was not live on the Jet Airways’ website. It seems the switch was flicked a while after I wrote the post, and a new fare interface has been brought on live.
The move to Fare Choices means that now you can choose various classes of tickets on the Jet Airways’ website, each of which will have different privileges and allowances coded on the fare rules. All the data is also presented simplistically on the website for your reference.
For instance, I tried looking for a Jet Airways’ ticket between Mumbai and Delhi on the coming weekend to try it out. Here is the new interface, presenting four options in terms of fare classes.
On clicking the Fare Choices drop-down in the top-left corner, you notice the benefits attached with various fare options.
When you choose a particular fare, the display automatically shares with you the benefits attached with the fare class as well, for easy reference. For instance, have a look at the Saver fare I chose.
Also, the sidebar pops up the number of JPMiles you would earn. In this case, for a round trip on Saver fares, I’d earn 710 JPMiles per head, which is 50% of the flown miles.
Even on the ticket, you can see a short form of the benefits offered. For instance, I pulled up a ticket which was booked before the move to fare choices, and here is the benefits segment.
Let me know what your experience with the Fare Choices move is. For me, I’m just going to be more cautious about looking at the various classes of booking to make sure I pick a fare which would fit my needs for the particular trip going forward.

What happens to B-class tickets booked earlier (there is no mention of these under fare choices). Will these tickets still earn tier points?
@Sai as per my information these people still get their tier points and 25 percent miles. I am flying one of those over the next weekend so let me update you after that
Hi Ajay, With the new JP miles structure, earning JP miles is relatively less. Does it mean that the value of JP miles we earn through our Co-branded credit cards has increased. If so, then I found one good point out of all the negative re-structuring done by Jet Privilege.
Won’t the JPMiles become less attractive with this kind of restructuring? Miles are going to be pretty difficult to attain unless you choose the high end Economy flex or Classic.
@Jayanth a lot of miles are now earned by credit cards and so on rather than the flying part itself. JP is a mileage minting factory
