Jet Airways and Delta firm up frequent flyer partnership

Jet Airways has been getting aligned with Delta over the past few months, and they are almost a Joint Venture now, except that they still don’t revenue share. A few months ago, Jet Airways and Delta came back together along with KLM/Air France/Virgin Atlantic to form a network servicing India and USA via Europe.

In 2012, Jet Airways’ and Delta had discontinued a partnership with respect to frequent flyer programs, but when Delta discontinued their India flight and Jet Airways discontinued their USA service, they became natural partners again at least for the time being. And the only hanging thread there was the return of the frequent flyer partnership, which both sides had indicated will happen.

With effect from today, the partnership seems to be back on track. JetPrivilege has confirmed this development.

Jet Airways will allow you to earn JPMiles across the Delta network of over 15,000 daily flights. If you fly on a codeshare flight with Jet Airways, you get a tier-point as well. JetPrivilege members will earn points per the following table:

Redemptions also look very nice. 60,000 JPMiles between India and USA in Economy it seems along with 2x for Business class and 3x for first class.

Bottomline

With JetPrivilege making this announcement, I am sure Delta Skymiles would also be out with a brief soon. This means, the Indo-US worlds are again connected with a frequent flyer partnership. However, if redemptions will be easy or not, only time will tell.

  1. Since Delta does not fly to India, I think they will issue tickets on Air France or KLM or may connect on DL from Europe ( AMS- CDG).
