Japan Airlines’ Sapphire Status for Visa Infinite Cardholders

Japan Airlines has an ongoing promotion for eligible Visa Infinite Cardmembers whose Cards were issued in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Australia, or South Korea. When you purchase a round-trip First-Class or Business Class ticket to Japan on Japan Airlines, you can enjoy a fast track to JMB Sapphire status. The ticket has to be bought by September 30, 2024, for travel that begins by or on March 31, 2025.

First things first, you need to register for the Fast Track Programme. Below are the links for each country where customers qualify for registration.

You need the following information when applying for the status fast track:

• The first six digits of your Visa Infinite Card
• JMB Membership Number
• Ticket number: 131-XXXXXXXXXX
• Reservation Number / Booking Reference
• First Flight Number: JL _ _ _ _
• Date of departure of first flight

To be on the fast track, the name registered to the JMB membership number must match the passenger’s name on the ticket purchased. The JMB Sapphire status will be activated from November 2024 and valid until 31 March 2026. It will only be given to applicants aged 18 and above. For applicants younger than the stipulated age, guardian consent must be provided. Children younger than two years old are not eligible.

The Sapphire status is the second from the top elite level on the oneworld alliance. Once you get the status, you will get the following perks on all member airlines:

• Access to business-class lounges
• Access to Business Class priority check-in
• Access to preferred or pre-reserved seating
• Priority on waitlists and when on standby
• Priority boarding
• When you fly on oneworld member airlines, you can check-in an extra baggage for free in addition to your ticketed baggage allowance.
• Priority baggage handling
