IHG Hotels and Resorts have made a tonne of changes to the IHG One (nee Rewards) programme this year, including launching a new Diamond Tier to sit atop their Platinum Elite Tier, which was the topmost tier earlier. Now, there is a brief opportunity to get this status for free for a short time.

IHG One Rewards Instant Diamond Tier Upgrade

IHG One Rewards Diamond status can be earned either based on the number of nights you stay or the number of qualifying points you earn, usually as per the following two qualification charts:

• You stay 70 qualifying nights in a calendar year, and award nights count are included
• You earn 120,000 qualifying points in a calendar year.

IHG Diamond members are entitled to a welcome amenity at check-in. You can select a complimentary full breakfast as an option. Breakfast is valid for the member and one registered guest for each night of the stay. Additionally, IHG Diamond status offers a 100% points bonus on all eligible stays.

IHG Diamond members are also entitled to room upgrades, subject to availability at check-in, all the way up to standard suites.

IHG One is currently offering an instant upgrade to their Diamond Elite Tier right now via this link. Click on the link, type your membership number, and within minutes, you will receive an upgrade to Diamond status.

The upgraded status lasts until December 31, 2022. Additionally, you will retain your Diamond Elite status for 2023 if you complete ten cash nights between now and the end of the year.

There is a caveat, though. We don’t know which group of customers did this offer come up for originally. So, it could have been a targeted offer, which has been put out for the rest of us by some other websites, and we are just paying it forward. As a caution, if you decide to move forward with this, please don’t load up with prepaid stays, just in case it goes south.

IHG One, the loyalty programme of IHG Hotels & Resorts, is offering an instant upgrade to their Diamond Tier at the moment, which is valid through December 31, 2022. If you make ten revenue nights by December 31, 2022, you will also get the extension to the status for a whole year (2023).
