INR 1,500 Amazon gift card for credit card applications

BankBazaar.com is a website that powers credit card applications for a lot of Banks in India, a sort of a marketplace. A long while ago, I used them to get some of my initial credit card applications through. You can’t really churn credit cards in India at the moment.

Anyhow, I happened to notice yesterday, that BankBazaar.com is having a Credit Card flash sale till May 23, 2015. If you apply using this sale over the next 3 days, you basically get 1 Amazon gift card of INR 1500 if you credit card is approved by June 30, 2015. You  can only use this promotion to get one gift card.

So, what are the good credit cards on offer for the travel buff?

  • Citibank PremierMiles: Even after the devaluation, they still are up to giving you back INR 4500 worth of travel just for signing up and paying INR 3000 in fees. Additionally, every time you book an air ticket with them, you get 5 airmiles/INR 100 or INR 4.5 as travel cash.
  • American Express Jet Airways Platinum: At INR 5,000 for the first year, you are getting a free one way ticket on Jet Airways, access to the Amex Lounges in Mumbai and Delhi and third party lounges in some other cities, and the ability to earn 16 JPMiles/INR 150 on booking tickets with Jet Airways.
  • Air India SBI Signature: One of the best mileage earning cards in India right now. On payment of fees you get 20,000 points and an upgrade voucher. On spending INR 3 Lakh in the year, you get 20,000 additional points, on spending INR 5 Lakh in the year you get 20,000 additional points, Air India/Star Alliance Silver Status (and 1 Upgrade Voucher). On hitting INR 10 Lakh in the year you get 50,000 additional points, Air India/Star Alliance Gold Status (and 2 upgrade vouchers).

And there are many more cards there which you could explore as well. I’d sure say if you are in the market for a travel credit card, this is one of those days to send away an application.

Here is my Credit Card Strategy for the year. What is yours?

  1. Hi Ajay
I just wanted to know whether cards such as ICICI HPCL Coral & Axis My Zone actually offers complimentary lounge visits as indicated by the bank because these cards are with Visa platinum sinage whereas on the Visa official website promises lounge visits only for the cards with signature or infinite signage and there is no mention whatsoever about platinum cards.

  2. You mentioned “the ability to earn 16 JPMiles/INR 100 on booking tickets with Jet Airways” for “AmEx Jet Airways Platinum”.

It used to be 16/150, has it changed ?
