When it was launched, it was one of the best card to have for everyone who was interested in dining out and having a social life. I’m talking of the IndusInd Bank EazyDiner Credit Card (Review). Now, the whole card offering is set to change, as of July 15, 2025. Here are the updates that you need to know.
Changes to the Dining Discount for paying via EazyDiner
So far, one could get an unlimited number of dining discounts when paying via the EazyDiner app using the PayEazy feature. With this card, the discount is limited to INR 1,000 per payment, for 25% of the invoice value. As of July 15, 2025, this will change.
Users will continue to receive a 25% dining discount, capped at INR 1,000 per transaction. However, the discount will be limited to just INR 2,000 per month in total.
If you want more, even then, the maximum discount for payment via the card will be limited to INR 5,000. The INR 2,001 to INR 5,000 discount per month will be unlocked when you have spent INR 30,000 on non-dining transactions in the previous calender month.
Changes to Rewards
New changes will also be implemented, which tries to move this card more towards a travel and lifestly card from a dining card. At the moment, Hotel & Travel Spends earn 4 Reward Points / INR 100, so a total payback of INR 0.8/INR 100 (each point is worth INR 0.2). Going forward, travel and hotel spends will earn 10 Reward Points/INR 100, but the value of the point goes down to INR 0.1 per point. So, your payback goes to INR 1/INR 100 spent.
Dining spends used to get 10 Reward Points/INR 100 spent, they will no longer get any points, as of July 15, 2025. This is another major blow to the card, which was built around the dining out proposition.
Increased Renewal Fee
Currently, it costs INR 1,999++ to retain the card every year. The fee is being revised, to go up to INR 2,999 per annum (ex GST), as of July 15, 2025. However, to compensate for the fee, you will get an INR 7,500 stay voucher for The Postcard Hotels, a sister enterprise of EazyDiner. Since the prices of the hotel per night are no less than 20-25,000 INR, so, you are not getting a free stay here, just a discount.
Airport Lounge Access and Movie Benefits Gone
The card offered its cardmembers two complimentary domestic airport lounge accesses each quarter. This benefit will be taken away as of July 15, 2025. Additionally, there were free movie tickets worth INR 400 per month on offer, which will go away as well. The benefit is currently offered via BookMyShow.
Bottomline
While the card has been generous for customers, it has been a loss leader for the bank, as the moves show. The bank realises that it needs to cap the core feature (discounts on EazyDiner), add other higher margin products (regular MDR spending of INR 30,000) and taken away some of the good to have features such as the lounges and the cinema tickets. But the core proposition is deeply targetted with the taking away of the points on dining spends. All the changes come into effect in July 2025.
