IndiGo started its international operations in September 2011 with Delhi-Dubai flights. Along with Delhi-Dubai flights, IndiGo also added flights to Singapore and Bangkok from Mumbai and Delhi and Dubai from Mumbai in the initial phase.
In 2013, IndiGo discontinued flights to Singapore from both Delhi and Mumbai as well as to Bangkok from Mumbai while adding flights to Singapore from Chennai and Hyderabad and a second frequency on Delhi-Bangkok route. Later on, IndiGo pulled out of Delhi-Bangkok route completely.
Since then, Indigo hasn’t restarted flights to Singapore and Bangkok from Mumbai and Delhi. With the Government allocating Jet Airways international bilateral rights to Indian carriers, IndiGo managed to secure rights to add 84 weekly flights. While some new flights are added using Jet Airways bilaterals, others are added using its own bilateral rights.
