Deal: Get India – USA return tickets in Economy for just INR 36,000 (USD 430)

Air India has been offering a sale for the past week or so, which will end tonight (July 8, 2024). While most of the flights are priced normal, one deal stands out.

Delhi – New York (return) flight pricing for just 36,000 INR

Air India operates flights from Delhi to the New York Area airports: JFK and Newark. On a normal trip, the flight costs about 80,000 INR (even if you exit from a different airport than the one you arrive at).

However, if you add a one-way trip to Dubai at the end of this trip, you get the fare slashed by half. This has been around for a few days, and it seems it only works in the order of booking your arrival to Newark and departure from New York JFK. Use the multicity option on AirIndia.com to book this ticket.

According to the travel rules, you should be able to book these fares for travel on or after September 15, 2024, from Delhi and valid for travel out of Delhi on/before December 10, 2024. All travel needs to be completed by April 30, 2025. At the time of this note, the fare continues to be available. The Fare Rules also indicate that the fare needs to be booked by July 8, 2024. Other origin points from India might also be available, so you need to play around on Air India’s website.

Bottomline

If you’d like to fly to the US (New York), you might want to book this fare on Air India. You should be able to book tickets back and forth for just INR 36,000 (USD 430). The fare is available on airindia.com and is best booked with an American Express Platinum Card or Axis Bank Atlas.

Do share any other insights about this fare or if you are booking it.

  1. The recent handling of problems by Air India doesn’t inspire confidence to fly long haul with them anywhere. Even domestic flights are risky. Tata will have to put in a lot more effort before I can trust Air India again. Goodbye my sweet prince Vistara!
