Every quarter IHG Rewards Club releases hotels under the PointBreaks promotion. These are hotels which can be booked for just 5,000 IHG points per night for the duration of the promotional period. IHG redemption usually starts at 10,000 points and goes all the way up to 60,000 points per night. IHG has announced its next round of PointsBreaks as of today.

This season there are about 140 properties participating of which there are 3 participating hotels in India. Reward night at all these 3 hotels is usually priced at 15,000 points per night so there is definitely value in booking though this promotion.

• Holiday Inn – Amritsar
• Crowne Plaza – Jaipur
• Holiday Inn – Chandigarh

Even though the Intercontinental Hotel Group runs hotels under 9 brands worldwide, this time again we see mostly see the Holiday Inn and the Crowne Plaza brands feature under the PointBreaks promotion. Though there are 2 Intercontinental brands participating which are really good value if you are planning a trip to Asia and Argentina.

• Intercontinental Phnom Penh in Combodia

Do remember that each member may only book two PointBreaks Reward Nights reservations per hotel, though there is no limit to the number of times one can book via the PointBreaks offer. Also, bookings are open under PointBreaks only for stays till October 31, 2016.

Bottomline:

Even though there aren’t many high end IHG brands participating in PointsBreak, 5,000 points per night is an amazing deal.
