IHG Rewards has revealed the details of their first global promotion of 2022, which will be launching at the beginning of February. There is an opportunity to earn IHG Rewards’ Double Points this time.

IHG Double Points Promotion 2022

IHG Rewards’ new global promotion, coming up in February 2022, offers members 2x IHG Rewards points on all stays. You earn bonus points starting with your first stay, and there’s no limit to how many bonus points you can earn.

The promotion is valid for stays between February 1 and March 31, 2022. To earn these 2X points, registration is required between January 19 and March 31, 2022, before an eligible stay. Nights stayed anytime during the promotion period would be eligible, as long as you register in time. All paid nights booked directly with IHG qualify for this promotion, as long as the nightly rate is at least USD 30. Award nights do not qualify.

This is a decent promotion. Ordinarily, IHG Rewards members can earn the following number of points for their paid stays:

• Ten points per USD spent at most brands, and five points per USD spent at Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites.
• Bonus points for Elites: Gold Elite members earn a 10% bonus, Platinum Elite members earn a 50% bonus, and Spire Elite members earn a 100% bonus.

We have seen some IHG offers in the past with 3x points, but they usually started with the second stay, so this should average out to about the same thing. Also, there are no caps!

Bottomline

IHG Rewards’ first global promotion of 2022 will offer double points for all stays, with no cap on how many bonus points you can earn. Register here before you forget, for your IHG stays! With this promotion, one wouldn’t go out of their way to earn IHG Rewards points, but why not take them if you have to stay at an IHG hotel brand anyways.
