IHG Rewards Club has released the details of the third Accelerate promotion for this year. This promotion is valid for stays between September 1 and December 31, 2017.

For the past few years, IHG Rewards Club has been offering gamified personal promotions, which it calls Accelerate. Under the Accelerate promotion various IHG Rewards Club members get different versions of the offer. Offers usually have a game like approach and a certain number of points are earned after crossing each hurdle. You will need to register here to access your offer.

In this version of Accelerate, I have an opportunity to earn a total of 40,600 bonus points by jumping 8 hurdles.

My offer compels me to complete 21 nights and does not focus much on stays completed. This is quite steep compared to my spring offer this year where I could have earned 39,500 bonus points by completing 6 nights at 2 different IHG properties. Also, no completion bonus for me this time around and largest chunk of 15,000 IHG points only come in when I complete all 21 nights.

As for Ajay’s offer, it is similar to mine where he can earn 37,000 IHG Rewards  Club points by completing 18 nights by the end of this year. Not very generous as compared to the current Accelerate promotion where Ajay has received 47,100 IHG points over 4 stays/6 nights only.

Both our offers are quite steep and we are thinking of giving it a pass this time. However if you are considering taking up this challenge, here are all the hotel brands that come under the IHG portfolio where you could stay and qualify.
