IHG Rewards Club has released the details of their first Accelerate promotion for the year 2018. This promotion is valid for stays between January 1 and April 30, 2018. Let’s explore what Accelerate 2018 got for us.
For the past few years, IHG Rewards Club has been offering personalized gamified promotions. There are smaller tasks to complete which get points and on completion of the whole set of tasks, you get a bigger bonus as well. Here are the last few Accelerate promotions: 2017 Fall, 2017 Summer, 2016 Fall, 2016 Spring.
In this version of Accelerate, I have an opportunity to earn a total of 30,00 bonus points by completing 4 tasks.
When I look at my tasks closely, I can earn all 30,000 points by just completing 2 nights stay at an Intercontinental hotel and a second 1 night stay at any IHG hotel. That’s a pretty okay offer in my hand and not worth going out of my way.
This time around Ajay’s Accelerate offer allows him to earn a total of 40,000 bonus points after completing 4 tasks. Again, not a promotion worth going out of the way at all.

Some other offers that members have received in this round of Accelerate are to earn a total 117,400 points by completing 50 nights which I’d say is quite steep to complete in 4 months as well.
