The IHG Rewards Club made a rather disappointing Accelerate promotion this quarter. But it looks like they now want to make up for it. So, IHG has just released a new global promotion, which will get you up to 4X bonus points. And the good news is, it looks like it is pretty good for the points.

IHG Rewards Club:  Earn up to 4X points

The new IHG promotion offers up to 4X points on stays and is tiered so that you get more points as you go along when you register and book by December 15, 2019, and complete your stays through January 31, 2020. Total spend on booking a qualifying stay must be over USD 30 (INR 2200) with a minimum stay of 1 night.

Here are the tiers.

• 1,000 bonus points for the first stay;
• Double bonus points, up to 200,000 points for the second stay;
• Triple bonus points, up to 200,000 points for the third stay;
• Quadruple bonus points, up to 200,000 points from the fourth stay onwards.

Since IHG Rewards Club gives you 10 points per dollar on most brands and 5 points per dollar on the long-stay brands (Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites), you would basically be earning 40 points per US Dollar spend even as a non-elite member. Elite member bonuses are not counted in the limits for this promotion. The extra 30 points per dollar are coming in for the first USD 6,700 spent per tier during the promotion period. So unless you are bringing in a whole floor full of people or staying at an ultra-expensive property, you have much room to max out this promotion.

The best part is, this promotion double dips with the IHG Accelerate promotion being offered through December 31, 2019. You can also earn 3K-6K bonus points per InterContinental hotel stay through November 30, 2019.

This is a generous new promotion from IHG due to the ability to get a 3x bonus per dollar spent at most brands, starting with your fourth stay. When used strategically, you could go up to 100 points per dollar spent which is massive.
