The ICC Cricket World Cup is one big cricketing event which catches the eye of South Asia, given two of the biggest Cricket teams are here, Pakistan and India. Now, as the ICC Cricket World Cup is all set to start by the end of the month, frequent flyers have a shot at earning themselves some World Cup tickets in exchange for their miles.
Emirates is offering tickets to the ICC World Cup which will be held between May 30, 2019, through July 14, 2019, for the members of their Skywards frequent flyer programme. You can log into the Skywards website, and redeem your miles for these tickets, starting at a minimum of 4500 Skywards miles per ticket.
Here is the number of miles you require for each match.
Like you can see, most matches are priced between 4500 and 6000 Emirates Skywards miles.
One of the more prominent fixtures, which is the India Pakistan match at Old Trafford, is for 25000 Skywards miles. Tickets for this match, which is sold out, are going for at least INR 43,000 on second-hand trading websites.
So, this is an excellent value for those who want to be at Manchester for this legendary match.
These tickets are coming from the sponsor quota, so we do not know how many of these exist and what category of the tickets are these, but each ticket redemption is equivalent to one ticket only.
Remember, American Express is the exclusive transfer partner for Emirates Skywards in India. You can transfer Membership Rewards points in Ratio 2:1 from the following Cards of American Express:
- American Express Platinum Charge Card
- American Express Platinum Reserve Credit Card
- American Express Membership Rewards Credit Card
- American Express Gold Charge Card
Emirates also partners with Standard Chartered to offer the Standard Chartered Emirates World Card.
If you have miles but no tickets for the upcoming World Cup, this may be a great way to redeem some miles for tickets. What games would you buy tickets for with your Emirates Miles?
(H/T Head for Points)
Did anyone get their tickets yet ?. How many days ahead of the game are they being sent out ?
Curious as to what matches most ppl applied the tickets for? semi finals, group matches or final?
This is excellent. I had my tickets and hotels but not the official entry into matches and your article helped me get tickets for cheap.
When are tickets supposed to be delivered? I have no news after I managed to book two for the Pak vs SL match in Bristol.
Yeah, but you might not have time to transfer, tickets will go fast. They have 30 tickets per match looks like.
Managed to grab 2 for 18k miles each for Eng vs Aus. Was short some miles but you can just go buy directly to top up, which is what I did.
How much is one skyward mile for
Roughly Rs. 1.5. I think there’s some 25% off running as well.
Value here of course being that most tickets are sold out and this is one way of getting them.
Amex Plat travel should also be a partner for redemption of points to Emirates skywards miles.
