Seems that Hyatt is only too eager to get back in the game of loyalty with a new team at the top, all brought in from Starwood Preferred Guest. The rollout of Hyatt’s World of Hyatt loyalty program has not exactly been smooth, given the high bar at the top which has left a lot of international members high and dry without a hotel footprint but an onerous bar to reach. On top of it, last few Hyatt promotion have been unexciting to say the least.
To help members, Hyatt changed a policy this year, adding award nights to the count of nights stayed in a year, and retroactively counting those nights as well for requalification.
New Hyatt Promotion offers a 1000 points per night!
Hyatt’s new promotion, More Bonus Points. Night after Night, launched today through May 15, 2018, is offering you 500 to 1000 points per night, up to a total of 25K points over the 3 months that the promotion is open.
For participating in the promotion, you need to register here before March 31, 2018.
You will receive 1,000 Bonus Points for each eligible night at Park Hyatt, Miraval, Andaz, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Centric, Hyatt Regency, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, Hyatt Zilara, Hyatt Ziva, Hyatt Residence Club and participating MGM properties and 500 Bonus Points for each eligible night at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House properties.
Only reservations made via Hyatt.com and Hyatt’s mobile app will qualify for double points. Stays booked via travel agents or any other channels are not eligible for this promotion.
If you book more than one rooms then only the room occupied by the member will earn the bonus on base points. Points will take between 2-3 weeks after stay completion to reflect in your account.
Why is this promotion important?
This is a good promotion because it is not tagged to stays, but rather nights in a hotel bed. And even if you redeemed points for a free night award, you get the bonus points as well. And finally, Hyatt moves on from Double Points which happened twice last year.
Value for your money?
World of Hyatt members usually gets 5 base points for every eligible US dollar spent. Under this promotion, the points earned will go up by 500 to 1000 per night spend. Let’s say you have a stay booked at the Grand Hyatt or the Park Hyatt Resort & Spa in Goa around the upcoming holiday period where a room night is priced at about USD 200/ INR 12,000. Usually, you’d earn just 985 points per night, but under this promotion, you get 1985 points per night.
Hyatt category 1 redemptions start at 5,000 points per night. Therefore a 3 nights stay in Goa will get you a free night at the Hyatt Regency in Kathmandu, a fantastic category 1 hotel option for reward stays.
Bottomline
This is a great opportunity to earn a boatload of points with Hyatt for your upcoming stays. As a reminder, Indian members don’t have any opportunity but to stay at Hyatt hotels to earn their points, and this is a great kicker for them to consider Hyatt properties.
