HSBC goes live with transfer partnerships across 20 programmes

HSBC Credit Cards have been on a reinvention spree in India, and the results have begun to show. The Bank recently launched a new HSBC TravelOne Card for travel consumers. Before that, the Bank relaunched its cashback card as HSBC Live+. The HSBC Premier proposition has also undergone a significant reinvention.

HSBC enables transfer partners online with an expanded portfolio

HSBC has been tinkering under the hood for the past few days, and now it has confirmed that the transfer partnerships for the Bank’s eligible credit card customers are all directed through the bank’s app. But that is not the point. There is an expanded partnership, and everything is in one place now. However, the Bank has now let go off Air Canada Aeroplan and Intermiles from their transfer partnership platform.

Here are all the airline transfer partners being offered now.

  1. Air India Maharaja Club
  2. airasia rewards
  3. Air France–KLM Flying Blue
  4. British Airways Executive Club
  5. Etihad Guest
  6. EVA Air Infinity MileageLands
  7. Hainan Airlines Fortune Wings Club
  8. JAL Mileage Bank
  9. Singapore Airlines Krisflyer
  10. Qantas Frequent Flyer
  11. Qatar Airways Privilege Club
  12. Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus
  13. Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles
  14. United MileagePlus
  15. Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles

Here are all the hotel transfer partners.

  1. Accor ALL
  2. IHG One Rewards
  3. Marriott Bonvoy
  4. Shangri-La Circle
  5. Wyndham Rewards

All the airlines and hotels transfer 1:1 per point from Premier and TravelOne and 2:1 from the Platinum Card. There are exceptions, though. These include:

  • airasia Rewards: 1 point = 3 miles for Premier and TravelOne; 2 miles for Platinum
  • Hainan Airlines Fortune Wings Club: 2 points for one mile for Premier and TravelOne; 4 points for one mile for Platinum
  • Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles: 2 points for one mile for Premier and TravelOne; 4 points for one mile for Platinum
  • United MileagePlus: 2 points for one mile for Premier and TravelOne: 3 points for one mile for Platinum
  • Shangri-La Shangri-La Circle: 5 points for one mile for Premier and TravelOne; 10 points for one mile for Platinum

For most airlines, you can expect your redemption to be completed instantly or within one working day from the day the cardholder keys in the redemption details in the HSBC India Mobile Banking App (except Hainan Airlines Fortune Wings Club, which will be completed within five working days, JAL Mileage Bank which will be completed within 10 working days, Air India Maharaja Club which will be completed within five working days.

Bottomline

HSBC Credit Cards has reinvigorated its credit card transfer programme, offering 20 partners for its TravelOne, Platinum, and Premier Credit Cards. All of these partnerships are now available from the HSBC app, and most transfer instantly.
