How to start claiming Air India Maharaja Points on your Zomato orders

If you order food on Zomato and collect airline miles, mid-September 2025 has just made dinner a little more valuable. Air India’s Maharaja Club has tied up with Zomato so that, once you link the two accounts, eligible Zomato food orders start earning Maharaja Points — plus you get a short trial of Zomato Gold and a few promotional extras thrown in.

Collect Maharaja Club points with Zomato Orders.

Getting started is low-effort. Open your Zomato app, go to your profile and look for the Partner Rewards / Air India – Maharaja Club tile; choose to link and enter your Maharaja Club (Flying Returns) membership ID, verify with the OTP, and you’re done — linking is a one-time step. Subsequent eligible orders should start accruing points automatically. The partner page streamlines the process, directing users to the Zomato app as the primary point of connection.

The image is a promotional graphic for the Air India Maharaja Club. It offers 2% Maharaja Points on every Zomato order above ₹499. Below the offer, there is a section to link a Maharaja Club account by entering a mobile number. A button labeled "Link account" is provided, along with a note about agreeing to share the number with Air India. There is also an option to sign up for a Maharaja Club account if one does not have it.

Air India Maharaja Club x Zomato

What’s on offer?

Eligible Zomato food orders of INR 499 or more earn 2% back in Maharaja Points (the exact wording is “2% Maharaja Points on orders above ₹499” and the calculation is applied to the net order value after discounts and including taxes/fees). When you link, you’ll also receive a complimentary three-month extension of Zomato Gold for enrolled members, as well as a running promotional draw where members can win flight vouchers. Air India’s partner materials also say that Maharaja Points from Zomato orders will be credited to your Maharaja account shortly after delivery (Air India’s note says within 24 hours). They credit almost immediately.

How does this compare to Swiggy/IndiGo BluChip?

It’s helpful to compare this with the IndiGo–Swiggy tie-up covered earlier. IndiGo’s BluChip–Swiggy arrangement earns a fixed number of BluChips per INR 100 spent. The difference matters when you think about real value: 1 BluChip/INR 100 is roughly a 0.5%-type earn rate, whereas Air India’s Zomato deal is 2%, but that 2% only kicks in above the stated minimum of INR 499 and the real redemption value depends on how you ultimately use those airline points for award tickets. Additionally, the Swiggy-IndiGo combination accrues points on InstaMart, while BlinkIt is excluded from the Zomato arrangement.

Bottomline

Link once, keep ordering as you usually do, and let the tiny trickle of Maharaja Points accumulate. For regular Zomato users, it’s a free upside. You will accrue 2 points for every INR 100 spent on orders worth INR 499 or more at Zomato.
