HDFC Bank has majorly modified the SmartBuy 10X programme over the months, limiting redemptions to 70% in points and 30% in cash for one, and also reducing the number of points you could earn from major retailers such as Amazon and Flipkart. However, from time to time, they do a push to engage with people and remind them of the good times we had for years together.
HDFC Bank has a new Extra Savings Day Sale going on at the moment, which is offering double to points on Amazon and Flipkart purchases than the usual on September 28, 29, 30, 2020. Having said that, if you choose to participate in the shopping spree, you will still be subject to the same maximum cap on your card, which is 7500 points for the HDFC Bank Diners Black and 15,000 points for the HDFC Bank Infinia. Additionally, on Amazon, you get a 10% Cashback, and Flipkart purchases get a 2% cashback when you shop via the Smartbuy portal.
Regular readers and Mileage Mentor MasterClass participants would remember that HDFC Bank also has online vouchers on sale for various brands on the SmartBuy portal. These earn 10X points for the Infinia and Diners Black card shoppers and is a great way to get assured 10X points (33% cashback). Last month, when this sale premiered, however, the Gyftr website which powers the gift cards section of Smartbuy went under
Also, Travel bookings have always been a great way to earn 10X points with the HDFC Bank cards. There are added sweeteners to those as well, this week, such as a 10% discount with these promotion codes.
As the credit card spending season comes back with the festivities, expect more of these to come your way.
What do you make of the current offer from HDFC Bank? Do share how do you think would you use these offers?

For some reason im not being allowed to buy Amazon and Flipkart vouchers from my infinia Card, other vouchers are working just fine.
Even the new month has started but transactions not going through, trying since the past one week.
What to do? Help desk also not helpful. gyftr is saying that card is showing as risk and HDFC is saying there is no problem
Ajay,
Regalia (and other non Infinia/DCB) card holders would get 10x +10% discount on amazon (in addition to the regular 5%)?
@neil, Regalia no longer earns 10X. check prior posts linked in this post.
Ajay,
I am a long time reader of your blog and am aware that regalia doesn’t earn 10x any more.
My remark stems from the fact that when you land on the offer details page it says ” offer details on your HDFC Bank credit and debit card”. Nowhere does it specify the card variant
Further it says: ‘please note – the above offers are over and above our monthly offers’ and then makes the distinction between Infinia/DCB & others…
May be I am asking for too much….
10x rewards and 10% cash back combo isn’t available to Diners / Infinia. Only 10x rewards and lower category cards get 10% cashback.
Sad they waited for the last 3 days of the month!! Had exhausted my limit last week!! 🙁
I wish they had Big Basket vouchers on offer. Grofers is really not up to the mark. Spencer/ more/ big bazaar are not online.
also Grofers doesnt allow redeeming more than 1 voucher per order unlike Bigbasket where you can fill up the wallet with all vouchers at once and use full wallet balance towards cart value.
Many times I got vegetables which are rotten. Customer care is pathetic. Getting refund is an issue.. so usually I tend to let go. For an item worth Rs 40-50 I had to spend 30 mins over the chatbox.
