Given it is the festive season, HDFC Bank is bringing out some promotions to help you make choices when it comes to your wallet. For Akshay Tritiya, which is just around the corner, HDFC Bank is dishing out 5X Reward Points on the purchase of jewellery using your HDFC Credit Cards. This is very similar to the Diwali promotion from HDFC Bank.
5X Reward Points are on offer when you spend on jewellery in one go, and your spends exceed INR 20,000. If you have an HDFC Bank Diners Club Black Credit Card or an HDFC Bank Infinia Credit Card, you stand to save 16% on a spend of INR 30,000 via 5,000 Reward Points, given each point is worth INR 1, and you earn 5 Reward Points on INR 150 on a regular day.
If you would like to earn the maximum of 5000 reward points on offer and you hold an HDFC Regalia Credit Card (or any other HDFC card that earns 4 Reward Points per INR 150 spent), a spend of INR 37,500 is required. Find the T&C here.
The promotion is valid on all the card variants except Corporate, Commercial, Business, and Value Plus Cards. The offer is valid between May 6 and May 7, 2019. Bonus Reward Points should reflect by August 31, 2019, in your statement.
You also have the opportunity to double dip on this promotion, if you head up to Tanishq to buy jewellery. A standalone promotion is offering savings in the form of 5% instant discount up to INR 5,000 if you purchase from Tanishq Stores until May 12, 2019. You stand to double-dip if you purchase from Tanishq on May 6 or 7, 2019.
This could be one of the best opportunities to make money for buying Jewellery then. What are your thoughts about the new HDFC Akshaya Tritiya Offer?
This scheme is utter nonsense.I picked some wedding jewellery for my daughter from South Ex outlet of Tanishq worth a fair amount.I was informed of the offer by the salesperson,as per him a parents card could be used for payment. So i especially transferred money to my HDFC acct. When i tried making payment i was told i could not use my card as the bill was in my daughters name. But to my surprise i could pay using my other bank cards. So at the last minute i had to scramble and arrange for money in my other accounts. So i was put into so much trouble by poorly informed people at the outlet.
Would buying coins/bars also count?
Double dip also possible on Caratlane on 6th & 7th May. Got a email mentioning both Tanishq & Caratlane for 5X reward and 5% discount (on purchase above 50k).
How does HDFC define a Jewelry purchase ? Is it based on the merchant code ?
T & C don’t list out any particular merchants for the offer so curious to see if u could visit my local jewelers. If not , any stores in particular that people have had luck with in the past ?
@Yash, yes HDFC would define it by the merchant code.
