Groupon offering GoAir discount vouchers

A few days ago, I wrote about the availability of British Airways discount vouchers on Groupon India.

Groupon has been working with GoAir in the past as well, and now has a promotion available, where you can purchase GoAir discount vouchers on Groupon India.

You have the opportunity to purchase an INR 99 voucher, which gives you an INR 850 discount on a one-way ticket, or an INR 199 voucher, which gives you an INR 1800 discount on a roundtrip. [Edit: Readers tell me you need INR 8000K worth of ticketing to be able to use it, something not stated in the T&C]

The vouchers are one-time use only, and generated instantaneously and delivered to your email. However, to use them you would have to ticket with the airline on the phone. All in all, a beneficial deal in case you decide to take it. And yes, you can use the voucher for bookings made till June 15, 2014 and travel till September 30, 2014. Near date bookings can also make use of this discount.

  1. This offer is not exactly as good as it sounds.

There are a few things that are not mentioned while purchasing the voucher.

I tried to book a ticket using this voucher and had the following response:

Though the fare on the web was listed as 5K , the call center representative told me that the voucher would be applicable only at a higher tier of fare i.e. 8k. At this point using the voucher makes no sense at all.

Maybe this can be useful in booking last minute flights but is not useful otherwise.
