Giving away a 2200 mAh Powerbank (today only!)

It is time for me to start passing around the goodies I brought back from last month’s BoardingArea Conference in Las Vegas. One of the necessities in today’s smartphone toting life is a continuous need to charge the phone. And being an iPhone user, I need it all the time. In fact, sometimes I need two to go through a day on the road.

Today’s goodie going away is a brand new silver-colored 2200 mAh powerbank, which i picked up during my trip to Las Vegas for the BoardingArea conference. All you need to do, is to put in a comment below before 2359 IST tonight (30 October 2014).

Tell me what is your  favourite mileage currency in India, and why you like it?

I will pick a winner tomorrow and send them the powerbank via courier in the next few days. Remember, I can only ship this around India, so do take part if you are based in India at the moment. Only one entry per person is allowed, and you should have a valid email address for me to be able to contact you.

  1. Love Aadvantage — the first & oldest loyalty program in the world, only 10k miles ONE WAY for domestic travel within INDIA (UNITED charges 20K one way)and mostly they can view 9W availability online, also they get you to your desired destination even if it means 3 connecting flights on 9W.Plus Redemption for hotel and car can’t be ignored, including vacation redemptions.

  2. My choice will be Citi Prestige Reward points. Gives me all the redemption partners of Premiermiles + Jet Airways as well. Also allows me to earn 8 miles/Rs 100 on International spends. Second comes Premiermiles and then 9W/AI

  3. JP Miles, thanks to the reach of Jet Airways and its partners, within and outside India. Also because of the abundant ways to earn JP miles.

  4. My choice is JP miles. If you shop with care on many occasions you get upwards of Rs 0.8 per mile, while Citi PM offers a constant rate of Rs 0.5 per mile.Another great thing is I have bought economy redumptions and been upgraded at the boarding gates. So this for me represents the ultimate value.

  5. I find JPMiles the best. Reasons for it are below:

    – Easy availability : It has lot of card partners in India, with generous joining bonus miles which help. One avenue of earning JPMiles which I like is Tripadvisor reviews.

    – Must for domestic travel : I usually book my tickets last moment due to work nature. Due to this, I also lose out on airline offers as most of my travel doesn’t coincide. So Jet miles help me with near-free last moment tickets

    – Bonus cash upgrade : One of the best features of Jet I like is their cash upgrade on award tickets. Just for 2k INR(+tax), you can upgrade to Premiere. Have tried it twice already.

  6. I like AI points because of the low mileage redemptions.I once took a DEL-LON one way Y for 9k miles.

  7. Hi AJ,
Its definitely Air India Flying Returns miles for me. The main reason being the ease of earning these miles using my Air India SBI Signature card. The other reason being the easy availability of award flights on Air India and also being able to use these miles on other Star Alliance member airlines. And, Air India has always been my favorite carrier for domestic travel because I find their economy seat to be the most comfortable among Indian domestic carriers.

  8. Citibank Premiermiles. The good number of airline partners and the ease of redemption makes these miles valuable.

  9. Air India Flying Returns miles- offers best connectivity for me from central India. Also earning miles currently through my AI Visa Signature SBI card

  10. I prefer jet airways as they cover many destinations of the world including within India. And also our favorite way of earning points is thru the American express credit card. It’s also one of the best airlines. And after their etihad tie up things are looking even better.

  11. Prefer JP miles– as the redemption is easy, and the sectors available for redemption cover the routes I or my family routinely travel on. Also booking tickets with the miles is a breeze.

  12. My favorites:

    CitiPremierMiles:
    1. Bonus miles for signup
    2. Signature card
    3. Good partner program
    4. Excellent conversion ratio

    ICICI Sapphiro:
Trying it this year. So far have been happy with:
    1. Bonus JP Miles
    2. Conversion ratio
    3. One on one offers on BookMyShow: Who does not like movies.
    4. Signature card

  13. FLying member Air miles from Air India. Redemption offers much more value, in comparison to other Indian mile programs (JET).

  14. Hi AJ,
I don’t currently have it, but Citi PM is by far the best currency, only due to its wide airline partner network.

  15. Hi, I like Air India miles mainly due to the easy of availability in award seats. Going forward, It’ll also be easy to earn them on the star alliance flights. I also have united mileage plus gold, however, in many scenarios Air India is a better FF program to use. For Example: recently took an Austrian Economy S-Class flight from VIE to DEL. With Air India, the mileage was 50% whereas with United it was 0. The SBI card also helps.

  16. Hi AJ,
Hope you had a safe trip. TO me its definitely premier miles!!>

Why? Cause came to know about it thru you only.. works seemlessly. offers great lounge access and earn options..

    thanks a lot

  17. skywards..it takes me half the miles to fly blr-del on 9w than jet privilege miles itself requires on their own flight for a redemption ticket.

  18. i prefer jet points, reason it gives better return on redemption during short/peak periods,

  19. Citi Premiermiles – EASY EARNING (2% back on all spends and 5% back on selected few), EASY BURNING (Mileage partners, Goibibo, Yatra, Indigo, premiermiles.co.in etc)and MORE FLEXIBILITY (easily using cash & miles combo, any airlines any sector, can make use of airline flash sales and mileage currency both etc).

  20. Jet Privilege miles are my favorite mileage currency in India. As of now, with my credit cards and other Jet Privilege offers, it is easier for me to earn miles.

  21. While difficult to pick one due to the lack of good options that exist in India :), I would actually go with actually a combination of Citi’s points of Premiermiles and Prestige. Premiermiles gives me option of 10/100 on airline website and select partners + tons of bonus promos which help accumalate miles and transfer to airline partners of choice across the different alliances to make best usage and then Prestige points since that gives me flexibility of 8/100 miles on interenational spends + Jet as a transfer partner. If I were to select one, then it has to be Citi PM for the reasons mentioned earlier.

  22. In India undoubtedly it will be the Citibank Premier Miles… the convenience of multi airline usage, as well as direct booking utilizing these miles…. a great advanatge

  23. To me, since I only use my 9W JP miles, I feel that is my favorite mileage currency. I get points when I shop with 9W-JP partner brands, and when I write reviews on Tripadvisor and so on. So, in a way I get the miles and use it for redeeming a free ticket once a year, atleast 🙂

  24. JPMiles for sure!
Reason: Now with the Etihad tie-up can use for international travel.
