#FreeUberWeek across India: 5 Free Uber rides

Uber has been on the rise in India. Just last week, they activated a new city in their portfolio, making it 11 Indian cities in 13 months of operations here.

Recently, they added the capability to pay with a digital wallet in India, and this week they are all out to promote it across the country. Here is what you need to do…

Step 1: Add an UberWallet (via Paytm) to your payment account.

Step 2: Add at least INR 100 in funds to your payment wallet.

Step 3: Select your wallet as your payment method

Between now and November 30, 6 pm IST, whenever you get a ride via the Uber app and choose to pay with Paytm, you will get the ride for free for the first 5 rides. The amount per ride is at most INR 300, so if you have a ride which costs you INR 400, you’ll be charged INR 100.  The promotion is valid across all the Uber cities around India, including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Kochi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and Jaipur. You can choose any car type and this amount will be applied on the ride as long as you are choosing to pay with your wallet.

What is more, unlike the other promotions, this promotion is valid for all existing as well as new users of Uber in India, so if you are an existing user, you just need to follow the above steps and carry on. However, if you are a new user for Uber, you can add another instant INR 300 credit for future rides applied to your account by signing up via this link from me.

I’ve already used two from my account, and I can vouch for the fact that it works!

  1. Do you have to add 100 to your Paytm account? If the payTM wallet already has sufficient balance, will the free rides work?

  2. Ajay: Uber App asks me to provide credit card number the first thing after I install the app. Do I have the right app???? Is this your experience as well? Please advise.
