Airlines are coming up with innovative promotions to work their way back into the good books of customers and allure them to travel. In many cases, customers may not be up for that travel right now, but the airlines still need to make some cash flow to get their business up the ground. To this effect, we saw a nice deal a few days ago from another Middle-Eastern Airline, and now Etihad is coming up with a really good offer.
Etihad Airways has now launched the Etihad Travel Voucher, a cash voucher which is valid for two years and can be used for travel bookings on the Etihad Airways network. You can use your voucher to pay for Etihad Airways flights and extras, such as seats or extra bags. You need to be an Etihad Guest member to be able to get yourself access to this Etihad gift voucher. The voucher can be both used for online bookings, as well as bookings on the phone.
You’ll earn Etihad Guest Miles when you book your flight using your Etihad Travel Voucher. The minimum Etihad Travel Voucher amount is USD 250, and it can go up to USD 65,000. Additionally, this voucher can be used for yourself or someone else as well. You can even gift Etihad Travel Vouchers to your friends or family.
Etihad offering 50% bonus on Etihad Travel Voucher
You got to remember, though, that this voucher can only be bought by calling the contact centre. Travel booked with this voucher can only commence from August 1, 2020, onwards. And before you swipe that card, just remember the vouchers are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Bottomline
I’d say Etihad has a very lucrative promotion for its customers who cannot travel at the moment due to the Coronavirus but would love to get in the air with the airline later. This promotion is a win-win for the airline as well as the customers since you will be able to get a handsome top-up for your money being given to the airline today, and the airline will be able to raise resources after being on the ground (largely) for a while.
What do you think of the new Etihad Travel Voucher promotion? Are you buying?
there is no guarantee, that Corona will disappear in next two years. Although Vaccine will come next year, but it needs to be widely available.
I am worried countries with widespread corona infections will find it difficult to get Visa’s or flights wont be resumed.
Buy it at your own risk
Ajay,
While they cannot be transferred , one can make a booking for someone else ,
It says so in terms and conditions
I think you should clarify that in the blogpost
@Karan already wrote there that one could make bookings for anyone else.
Would you if these will be dollar denominated? If a future travel is booked through India website, will the voucher value be converted to INR at the then prevailing FX?
That’s what needs to be ascertained before considering to buy it
so onw should buy this or not, foreign transaction charge will not be too much i guess
