Etihad offering to fly two kids free on every adult ticket bought for flights till September 2021

Etihad Airways has a new promotion which looks interesting if anyone is considering a trip to the UAE at this point. Not to forget, Etihad Airways has a good product on their 787-9s and the A380s (which are grounded for the moment), which together makes it a promotion to consider if you are planning to travel later this year.

Kids Fly Free

Etihad Airways Kids Fly Free promotion.

Etihad Airways is offering a Kids Fly Free promotion at the moment, where tickets booked for adults allow for each adult to bring along two children for free. Simply said, for a family of two adults, they can bring up to four kids along.

With every adult ticket booked before January 28, 2021, for travel to be completed until September 30, 2021, up to two children will travel free. These fares are eligible for those travelling to the UAE only, with the purchase of a return trip. Etihad states that these two children/infants need to be related to the adult, and surcharges/taxes will still be payable on these kids tickets. The promotion is only available on Economy fares.

Per Etihad,

Flying to, from, and via Abu Dhabi is supported by the airline’s fully redesigned Etihad Wellness sanitisation and safety programme, which ensures the highest standards of hygiene are maintained at every stage of the customer journey. This includes specially trained Wellness Ambassadors, a first in the industry, who have been introduced by the airline to provide essential travel health information and care on the ground and on every flight, so guests can fly with greater ease and confidence. All passengers travelling with Etihad receive complimentary COVID-19 insurance.

I tried to check out the true nature of this promotion, and there was no fare charged for children, just INR 4000 or so per round trip towards taxes, and they get their seat as well. When booking an Economy Choice fare class, Etihad is also offering a free date change before departure. Moreover, there was no need for any special manoeuvring, as long as there were not more than two kids per adult.

This is an interesting Etihad Airways promotion to fill up empty seats on the plane and attract tourism back into the UAE.

What do you think of this new Etihad Airways Kids Fly Free promotion?
