Earn up to 20,000 Etihad Guest elite miles for transferring points

Between November 14 and December 15, 2021, Etihad Guest is offering one Etihad Guest elite qualifying mile for every mile transferred to the program. You must share a minimum of 5,000 miles to be eligible for this promotion. Only the following programmes qualify for the transfer promotion:

  • AIMIA (Air Miles)
  • AMEX Membership Rewards (Global)
  • Al Hilal Joud
  • Citibank UAE/Global
  • Emirates Islamic Bank
  • Emirates NBD
  • FAB Rewards
  • HSBC UK
  • ADCB TouchPoints
  • ADNOC
  • SHARE Rewards
  • Boubyan Bank
  • Saudi British Bank
  • National Commercial Bank

Here are some key terms and conditions:

  • Etihad Guest members who transfer their points during the campaign period will receive 1 tier mile for every mile transferred with a minimum threshold of 5,000 miles transfer, and the tier miles will be capped at 20,000 tier miles.
  • The promotion is applicable for any member who converts their points from a qualifying Partner loyalty programme to Etihad Guest Miles. The eligibility of the bonus tier miles for a specific member will be done based on the validity of the promotion and the date of transfer provided by the partner for that respective member.
  • Base Etihad Guest Miles converted by the member will be awarded as per the applicable transfer ratios of each respective partner
  • Bonus Etihad Guest Tier Miles earned during this promotion will reflect in the member’s Etihad Guest membership account within ten working days of the end date December 15, 2021, of the promotion
  • If an Etihad Guest member holds credit cards and Hotel loyalty programme cards of different banks and hotels and converts the rewards points to Etihad Guest Miles under this promotion, then the number of Bonus Guest Miles they will earn will reflect separately in the members account for each partner
  • The above promotion construct is valid only for all Points Transfer Partners which fall under the Points Transfer partners listed above and are governed by the transfer ratios and minimum thresholds applicable for these respective partners.

For what its worth, Etihad Guest elite tiers usually require the following number of tier miles to earn and retain status:

  • Etihad Guest Silver: 25,000 elite miles to earn/ 20,000 elite miles to maintain
  • Etihad Guest Gold: 50,000 elite miles to earn/ 40,000 elite miles to maintain
  • Etihad Guest Platinum: 125,000 elite miles to earn/ 100,000 elite miles to maintain

With this promotion, you get to earn up to 20,000 elite miles, which means you can acquire silver or retain silver easily, and in many cases, if you are closer to a higher status, you can make the jump by getting these extra tier miles in!

So, I wouldn’t bother transferring miles to Etihad if I did not have status. But if I am close to getting Gold or Platinum, I’d make the jump. Or if I foresee a lot of travel on Etihad in the next 11 months, I’d get a headstart with this elite mile conversion now.

Bottomline

Etihad Guest is offering a bonus elite mile conversion, where they are offering one elite mile for every mile you transfer to the program from select partners. This promotion ensures you get a boost to the next level of your status on Etihad.

Does anyone plan to take advantage of this Etihad Guest promotion?
