Earn JPMiles to book hotels with PointsHound + special promotion

PointsHound is a 11 month old website now, which offers mileage currency to book hotel rooms via their website. There is a tier system in place, where if you book 1-5 nights, you get a certain no. of miles, for being a Level 1 member. Once you move up to Level 2, you get the ability to earn a higher no. of miles per night, and if you go right up to level 3 (20+ nights booked), you get into the highest tier where you get the most number of miles per night.

Most of the times, you’d have to give up the ability to earn status/elite benefits in your hotel program when booking via a 3rd Party. However, PointsHound does have a DoubleUp program, where you get to earn points & status credits in the hotel loyalty program as well, with programs such as Hyatt Gold Passport, Hilton HHonors & Marriott Rewards, SPG & IHG Rewards Club joining in. With an offering of 150,000 hotels globally, that does make sense to look them up for a reservation.

Now, just a few days back, they’ve tied up with Jet Airways’ JetPrivilege program to offer JP Miles as a possible mileage currency for their members. With over 4,000 hotels in India, this booking engine could also be of use to travellers in India, who can book up with them to receive miles for their bookings.

As a special promotion, for members who sign up to use PointsHound using this link uptil October 31, you get to earn a  Level 2 Membership through the rest of 2013, enabling members to earn 5-10x points per dollar spent, as well as 1000 JPMiles bonus on their first booking. The upgrade to Level 2 happens within 24 hours, and is not instantaneous.

And if you feel generous, you could also use my referral link where you earn 250 points for your first booking. Thank you already for that.
