Last Day Today: IndiGo, AirAsia India and SpiceJet offering low fares till January 5, 2022

Airlines in India are working under very restrictive rules when they have to keep the fares at certain levels because the Government of India tells them to do so. The current restrictions are on for the time being where airlines have to offer economy class fares within a fare band prescribed. Four Three airlines are now offering fare sales to drum up the sale of seats in 2022.

  1. I’m looking at rates for various destinations from Rajkot and there’s no difference even for the fares for Aug-Sept.

The fares that I’m seeing for Aug-Sept were visible long before this sale started and are regular rates even without the sale if you book in advance.

This entire PR exercise by the airlines seems to be a waste and might just lead to negative PR because I feel like they are trying to fool us by offering the same fares as discounted fares.
