One year after launching the Marriott Co-Brand Credit Card in India with HDFC Bank, Marriott Bonvoy has finally started focussing on building the grounds to make this card more visible in the market.

Why have the Marriott Bonvoy HDFC Bank Credit Card?

The Marriott Bonvoy HDFC Bank Credit Card is the first co-branded credit card in the hospitality space in India. For those who still don’t know, Marriott is now the largest hospitality chain in India, with over 150 hotels of all shapes and sizes, covering the nation from north (Kashmir) to South (Kerala and Tamil Nadu) and from East (Meghalaya) to West (Rajasthan and Gujarat).

The card offers some great initiation and annual benefits for a small sum of INR 3,000 ++ per annum in terms of annual fees.

1.  Every year you hold the card, you will earn 10 Elite Night Credits, which is excellent for everyone who wants to gain or retain status with Marriott Bonvoy. For instance, ten nights in my bed, but counting for Marriott Bonvoy Platinum or Titanium Status is an excellent flex for that small sum.
2. Every year you hold the card, you also get a free night award added to your account, redeemable for hotel redemptions up to 15,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. But you can also club it with up to 15,000 points from your account and get a redemption for up to 30,000 Bonvoy Points. This covers a large swathe of hotels in India. A Marriott redemption for just INR 3,000++ is not a bad deal.
3. Marriott’s first elite tier membership is the Silver Tier.  Just holding the card in your portfolio automatically enrols you in this tier. This allows you to participate in many promotions that Marriott Bonvoy only runs for elite tier members (such as this)

50% Dining Discount across Marriott Hotels across India with the Marriott Bonvoy HDFC Bank Credit Card

Marriott Bonvoy is offering a 50% Discount on buffet meals (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) at participating hotels (118 of 150+) across India for Marriott Bonvoy HDFC Bank Card holders and their friends and family on the occasion of the first anniversary of the credit card being launched. The offer is non-transferable, and the member needs to be present to avail of the offer. The payment must also be made via the Marriott Bonvoy HDFC Bank Credit Card only.

The discount is valid for a maximum of 6 guests and is only available Monday through Saturday. According to Marriott, a prior reservation with the restaurant is mandatory. The full Terms & Conditions can be found here.

25% Spa Discount across Marriott Hotels across India with the Marriott Bonvoy HDFC Bank Credit Card

Marriott Bonvoy is offering a 25% Discount on Spa treatments at participating hotels (118 of 150+) across India for Marriott Bonvoy HDFC Bank Card holders and their friends and family on the occasion of the card’s first anniversary. The offer is non-transferable, and the member must be present to avail of the offer. The payment must also be made via the Marriott Bonvoy HDFC Bank Credit Card only.

The discount is valid for only two guests (the card member and a +1) and is available Monday through Thursday. According to Marriott, a prior reservation with the spa is mandatory. To celebrate the first anniversary of the Marriott Bonvoy HDFC Bank Credit Card, Marriott Bonvoy is offering some pretty nifty discounts on dining and spa treatments at over 100 participating hotels across India between September 2 and September 17, 2024. You need to pay with the card, though, to avail of the discount.
