The days of American style sign up bonuses are finally coming into India. There is a new promotion that has been sent out to members of Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer program this morning, which gives you an extra 10,000 PremierMiles for spending at least INR 50,000 on the new card within 60 days of activation.
While I have a review of the Citibank PremierMiles Credit Card I did in 2012, here is a quick summary of the features:
- All spend earn 4 PremierMiles per INR 100 spend
- Airline purchases and accelerated partner spends earn 10 PremierMiles per INR 100 spend. GoIbibo, Yatra, Raymonds, Bookmyshow are some of the accelerated spend partners.
- All PremierMiles convert to Airline miles in a 1:1 ratio to Air India, Singapore Airlines, Thai, Qatar, Etihad, Delta, Eva Air, British Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Cathay Pacific miles.
- PremierMiles can also be converted to Taj Inner Circle Points, HHonors Points and IHG Reward Club Points
- PremierMiles can be redeemed for INR 0.5 value against air tickets on websites of Yatra.com, Goibibo.com, Indigo and Premiermiles.co.in
- You get 10,000 PremierMiles as welcome gift on first transaction of the card. You get 3000 PremierMiles annually as renewal benefits.
- Lounge Access in line with Visa or MasterCard privileges.
- Frequent bonus offers/promos which allow you to earn extra miles.
- Fees is INR 3000 annually, not waived.
With this promotion, new signups are basically getting an opportunity to spend INR 50,000 in two months, and get an additional 10,000 PremierMiles, which is very much achievable. Hence, for your spend, you get 20,000 welcome miles plus all the miles on your spending categories as well.
Here is how PremierMiles can tip you into amazing business class or first class travel experiences.
If you are in the market for a new Citibank PremierMiles credit card, this is a very good opportunity to get yourself one. Follow this link, although it is only for KrisFlyer members, you don’t have to be a member of the KF program to sign up for the card via this link.
Here are the important terms & conditions:

- You must spend at least INR 50,000 on your card within 60 days of card issuance to be eligible for the 10,000 PremierMiles.
- The bonus 10,000 PremierMiles will be awarded within 90 days after the end of your spending period.
- These 10,000 bonus PremierMiles are over and above the 10,000 PremierMiles granted as an activation bonus for first transaction of INR 1,000 within 60 days of card issuance.

Just got an sms saying the 10000 bonus miles have been credited as a part of the singapore airlines offer.
I had applied after reading the blog – Thanks Ajay!, and got a confirmation from Citibank that the miles have been credited.
Writing to customer care from the internet login seems to be quite efficient though they take at least 2-3 days to revert.
Hi AJ, by some chance, do you know if this offer is still valid ? The link seems to be working & in the US, Citibank always will honor any working link (even if the offer expired). So, wanted to check if it’s the same here as well. Thanks !
@Gaurav,
I did call Citibank reg this and they said they will revert back by EOW.. will update here once I hear from them,
Hi AJ, do you know any1 who received 10k bonus miles after making the spending ? My friend is still struggling to get it.
Thanks Ajay. I don’t need to enroll onto Kris Flyer to get the additional 10k?
And, the Rs. 1500 Goibibo voucher was a nice surprise…
Just got a PM Mastercard after seeing the promotion on your blog. Upon probing, the customer care mentioned that the bonus miles would apply if you have received a mail from Kris Flyer. So, not sure about the 10k bonus :-(. Did anyone hear otherwise?
@Krishna the bonus miles will post once you’ve made the spend, not otherwise.
@Manish I called customer care and asked them how I can get the visa version. They said just placing a request for a visa version would suffice, I am traveling this month and didn’t want to switch the cards now. Will place a request next month.
Do try placing a request and let us know here…
Thanks.
@Bluecrabs: My wife applied for the card under this promo and got it within a week. She also received the Master card version. Was your switch to Visa version successful ?
also I received the Mastercard world card version of premier miles, is there anyway to switch that for Visa?
applied thru the link above and got the card in 10 days. The documentation along with it doesn’t say anything about the promotion. Hopefully the bonus miles do come thru, Will confirm it here in a few months 🙂
Hi AJ
Are you sure about the 10000+10000, i.e. will members get the regular PM bonus and also the special Singapore airline bonus? If yes i m signing-up right away.
Cheers
@Ankita the second 10000 comes if u spend 50k inr in 60 days
@rohan you don’t have to be a KF member to get this offer. you can’t couple this with the 2k referral offer since the links for both are separate.
Does a fresh applicant necessarily have to be a KrisFlyer member? Is it possible to create a new KrisFlyer account and then avail this offer? Seems likfe a good deal if coupled with the 2k referral offer.
Kapil P- I was in a similar situation where I had applied for a Citi PM and learnt about the prestige. I requested the Cst Service to change my application to Prestige and cancel the PM. One of the qualifiers is a salary upwards of INR 40 lakhs . If you do fulfill that, why not go ahead.
Hey AJ,
I have a Citi Visa PM right now.
Can i get this converted into Citi prestige and get a new Citi PM before 31st aug to get this benefit?
@Kapil I am not sure at all about the time it would take. You could always ask for conversion but if Citi wants to do two assessments of your credit report within 30 days itself is something I am not sure about.
Hi AJ,
What’s the eligibility criteria for this ?
Base salary or something ?
@prasanth yes, there must be a salary criteria but Citi would be best able to answer it. I am not in the know.
