As you can see, this is a tiered promotion, so you get the following tiers:

  • Buy 5,000 – 25,000 points, receive a 55% bonus
  • Buy 30,000 – 70,000 points, receive a 75% bonus
  • Buy over 80,000 points, receive a 100% bonus

At the top end of the promotion, you can buy Air Canada Aeroplan miles at the rate of 18,750 Canadian Dollars / 13,277 US Dollars / INR 11,84,000 for 1,000,000 points, pricing it at 1.33 US Cents / INR 1.19 per Aeroplan Mile. This is the top end of the 100% bonus promotion, and you can buy up to 1,000,000 miles with this promotion.

The promotion is live from November 20 to December 17, 2025, at 11:59:59 PM PST. Even new accounts can use this promotion. For the duration of this promotion, the eligible limit of Aeroplan points that can be bought per Aeroplan account is 500,000 Aeroplan points with an additional 100% Bonus.

Air Canada has various partners, including non-Star Alliance carriers such as Emirates, Etihad, Gulf Air, Oman Air, and Air Mauritius. You can mix and match partner airlines for awards that allow stopovers for a modest fee of 5,000 miles. In the case of Aeroplan, there are no fuel surcharges on award tickets, meaning you should not expect to pay hefty fees when redeeming points.

Which cards should you use to buy these miles?

Typically, these point purchases are processed through Points.com, rather than directly by the hotel or airline. However, you will almost always pay in USD/EUR/GBP, not INR. Therefore, the best cards to earn a bonus are the Axis Olympus, Axis Reserve, or American Express Platinum Charge Card, as these cards offer an international spending bonus. These days, you can also consider buying with the HSBC TravelOne Card. Beyond these, consider any card that offers reduced foreign exchange conversion rates or helps you meet minimum spend requirements.

Bottomline

Air Canada is offering a 100% bonus on the purchase of Aeroplan miles through December 17, 2025 (December 18, 2025, in India). To trigger the bonus, you must buy a minimum of 5,000 miles. This will bring the price of Aeroplan miles to one of the lowest it has been in a long time.

What do you think of this Aeroplan promotion, and will you buy Aeroplan miles at this price?
