Bangalore inaugurated the Terminal 2 of the Bangalore International Airport in November 2022, and since then, it has transitioned AirAsia India, Vistara and StarAir to operate from the new terminal. All other airlines currently operate from Terminal 1 at the moment.
Bangalore Airport to move all international operations to Terminal 2
As per MoneyControl reporting, Bangalore Airport CEO Hari Marar has indicated that the airport will transition all the operations for international carriers (currently operating from the 2008-inaugurated Terminal 1) to Terminal 2. Hari Marar said,
International operations will be completely relocated to T2, while Terminal 1 (T1) will exclusively serve as a domestic terminal. September 1 is the firm date for the collective transition of all international airlines from T1 to T2. The transition will not be carried out in phases, as immigration counters and customs office need to be set up. At midnight on August 31, all international traffic will be shifted to T2. This overnight transition is quite exciting.
Per Mr Marar, the transition is going to be a one-shot and not gradual, as he commented above. He also mentioned that Air India will also transfer from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 sometime during June 2023, and with that, the domestic transitions of Terminal 2 will be completed.
Terminal two, while scenic, has had some issues over the first few months, such as connectivity issues for telecom services and not fully baked facilities yet. I’m yet to visit after cancelling plans to attend the inauguration in November 2022.
Bottomline
Come September 2023, all international flight operations out of Bengaluru will be conducted out of Terminal 2. Air India will move sometime during June 2023. Vistara, AirAsia India and StarAir have already transitioned since March 2023.

Sure that AirAsia/Vistara/Star Air are not shifting back?
@Adil, why should they need to move?
Is it possible to walk from T1 to T2? I have seen shuttle buses operating but not sure if the two terminals are walkable.
