Back in town!

I’ve had a crazy week at work, and this has led to no posts this week. Like I mentioned earlier this week, I sort of believed that the Brits would commit to efficiency, however they did not. So, I had a delayed start to a long week of a work trip. When I was sure that I was good to go, I did make the trip, and here was the routing.

I did all of these segments in 4 days, apart from the zillion work commitments which took me there, and yes, there was another 6-7 hours of driving which you of course do not see because this is an airline map.

I flew Jet Airways on the way to Brussels and back from Paris (from Mumbai), and a short KLM Fokker 70 flight between Luxembourg and Amsterdam airport, which is perhaps one of the most expensive flight ticket I ever bought. To Helsinki and back, I flew Finnair Economy, where I got a new A321 plane on the flight between AMS-HEL, with lots of leg space as I could get the exit row. And yes, I was super unimpressed by the Helsinki Airport, it reminded me of the old Mumbai Airport Terminal 2… chaotic and not so organised. So I wondered what was all the fuss around them being so popular on Social Media, because they have not solved the basic problems of customer flows at the airport.

Luckily for me, I’ve practised and perfected the art of changing into a suit in the small washrooms on a plane, and when I landed in Brussels at 7:30 AM on Tuesday, that skillset and some brisk walking to get in front of the passport control line, helped me make it to a meeting in Brussels city at 8:45 AM.

Of course, all of this took a toll on my body, so yesterday, I got back home from Paris – Mumbai on Jet Airways, where I had used upgrade vouchers to get myself on a business class seat, and I slept so much on the plane that I only woke up 30 mins prior to landing. And then I slept a solid 8 hours or so once I got home.

And now, time to get back in action, or at least try.
