British Airways has launched a new sale today, where they are offering a massive discount of 50% of the number of Avios required to travel to or from London Heathrow or Gatwick to their 90 Long Haul destinations across the globe. That could mean a pretty saving on British Airways redemption with Avios under the new BA Avios 50 Off Redemptions sale.
The catch, it is valid for economy class redemptions only! Moreover, their large taxes and surcharges are still to be paid. You can also fly through London to the other side of the globe as well. For instance, here is a flight between London LHR & Mumbai only at 12500 Avios one way.
The promotion is available for bookings made from now to June 17 for travel between September 1, 2018, and May 31, 2019. Discounts on this sale include flights all over the place, such as New York, Toronto, and Dubai for 13,000 Avios and Hong Kong and Shanghai for 19,500 Avios. The list prices are 26,000 Avios and 39,000 Avios respectively. Of course, full airline taxes, fees, and carrier charges apply on these redemptions.
This promotion applies to peak as well as off-peak seasons. The only places you can’t head to are some segments such as over to Sydney, Santiago de Chile, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janiero, Buenos Aires, San Jose (Costa Rica) and Grenada. The great news is that award availability is excellent and the period is long, so if you think you’d want some redemption tickets for the first half of 2019, this is the time to go for those tickets.
Remember, you can transfer Avios from American Express, Diners Club, and Citibank. So those are some places to make whole if you’d like some points for your next British Airways redemption.
Bottomline
To take advantage of this excellent deal, you must book your long-haul flight before June 17, 2018, for travel between September 1, 2018, and May 31, 2019. The discount will be automatically applied when you search on British Airways website, while you are logged in your Executive Club account.
Let us know if you make a redemption under this promotion. I’m sure starting to look for some good places to go!
Not a great deal at all. Taxes & Fuel surcharges kill the deal
