In H2 2022, Axis Bank Credit Cards, in the lead-up to their acquisition of Citibank’s India business, added a whole lot of transfer partners to their credit card rewards programme, referred to as EDGE Rewards in common parlance. The partner addition instantly added value to the card portfolio, especially with HNI Cards such as Axis Bank Magnus Credit Card (read review). This also attracted a response from HDFC Bank, who launched a slew of transfer partners to their credit cards. Now, Axis Bank has added more partners, enhancing its portfolio of reward partners.
Axis Bank adds a further bunch of transfer partners.
Axis Bank had originally enlisted the following transfer partners for their credit card rewards.
- Independent
- AirAsia Rewards
- Club Vistara
- Etihad Guest
- SpiceClub
- Star Alliance
- Ethiopian Airlines ShebaMiles
- Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
- United Mileage Plus
- Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles
- oneworld Alliance
- Qatar Airways
- SkyTeam Alliance
- AirFrance KLM Flying Blue
- Hotel Networks
- IHG One Rewards
- Club ITC
- Marriott Bonvoy
Now, six new reward transfer partners have been added to this list, effective immediately:
- Hotel Networks
- Accor ALL
- Wyndham Rewards
- Star Alliance
- Air Canada’s Aeroplan
- Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus
- oneworld Alliance
- Japan Airlines JAL Mileage Bank
- Qantas Frequent Flyer
These reward partners signal to HDFC Bank that Axis Bank is levelling up (Axis Bank has brought on board Wyndham, Accor, and Aeroplan). Also, Axis Bank may have used its Citi connection to add other partners, such as Qantas and Thai Airways, to this list.
In the overall scheme of things, what works in Axis Bank’s favour is that there is only one transfer consistent ratio, unlike HDFC Bank, which has different ratios for different transfer partners. The ratios are:
- 5 EDGE Rewards to 4 Converted miles for HNI Cards (Burgundy Private, Reserve, Magnus)
- 1 EDGE Rewards to 2 Converted miles for ATLAS
- 10 EDGE Rewards to 1 Converted mile for Affluent Cards
- 20 EDGE Rewards to 1 Converted mile for other cards
Bottomline
Axis Bank Credit Cards added six new transfer partners on April 5, 2023, taking up their total list of transfer partners to 19 now, which is far higher than any other rewards transfer programme in India at the moment. The new additions include two hotel programmes, two Star Alliance and two oneworld member airlines. This is overall great news for Axis Bank Credit Cards customers, and if you have been on the fence about Axis Bank’s Magnus Credit Card, you should sign up now!
What is your thought about the new partners added to Axis Bank’s Credit Cards?

Ajay, Did Axis Bank removed Club Vistara as transfer partner on Axis Travel Edge website? Now it’s not showing.
@Abhishek, temporarily gone. But Axis and Vistara are long term partners so I hope this comes back quickly.
