Three Days Only: Axis Bank offering all their Vistara credit card with fee waivers

Axis Bank and Vistara came together in 2016 to launch the first co-brand credit card range for Club Vistara. This range has been wildly popular and successful for Vistara and Axis Bank for some reasons specific to this range of credit cards only. And now, there is an opportunity to get the Axis Bank Vistara Infinite Credit Card with a fee waiver, apart from the other cards in this range, as long as you can meet specific minimum spending. Read on…

Axis Bank Vistara Infinite Credit Card with Fee Waiver

Axis Bank and Club Vistara offer the Axis Bank Vistara Infinite Credit Card, which is the top-end credit card for the Axis Vistara Credit Card range. The key perks of the card are that you get a complimentary Vistara Business Class ticket for use by you or anyone who is a nominee on your Club Vistara account.

  • Complimentary Business Class Tickets: The card offers up to five complimentary business-class tickets, which is where it shines. The first business class ticket is available to you when you pay the annual fee, and the rest of the four are credited to your account once you do milestone spends on the card. The Milestone spends to achieve the remaining complimentary tickets are as follows:
    • First Ticket: INR 2.5 Lakhs within the Membership Year
    • Second Ticket: INR 5 Lakhs within the Membership Year
    • Third Ticket: INR 7.5 Lakhs within the Membership Year
    • Fourth Ticket: INR 12 Lakhs within the Membership Year

Each Voucher is credited to the Club Vistara account of the member upon achieving the spend. From there, the member has up to nine months to use the voucher for their free travel (six months to issue the voucher and three months subsequently to encash it for free travel).

Cardholders may issue the voucher in their Club Vistara account anytime within six months of their becoming eligible. Once issued, the Voucher will be visible under the ‘My Vouchers’ section and valid for three months from the date of issuance.

  • Club Vistara Gold Tier: While many people think of the complimentary tickets as the best feature of the card, I find the complimentary Club Vistara Gold Tier to be the top offering of this card. The reason is, if you are a not-so-frequent traveller, there is a high chance you are not going to be making it to the top tiers of the airline’s loyalty programme anyways. And if you are going to look at the 2023 loyalty tier assessment, you have to spend a lot of money to make it to Club Vistara Gold/Platinum. But here, at the cost of INR 10,000 plus GST, you can access the Gold Tier as long as you are a card member.

This will get you access to the priority queue at the airport and on the phone with Vistara support. Additionally, you get a couple of Club Vistara upgrade vouchers and additional baggage allowance, even if you are travelling in economy on the airline. For your baggage, you get priority baggage handling as well, which means your bag comes out first on the belt.

  • Mileage Earning: If you want to earn a lot of Club Vistara points, this is your top-end card. For every multiple of INR 200 spent, you get 6 Club Vistara points. Additionally, if you spend INR 1,00,000 (INR One Lakh only) within the first 90 days of card issuance, you will also get an additional 10,000 Club Vistara points credited to your CV account.

Apart from this, many other benefits come along with the card, including complimentary lounge access (even when you are not flying with Vistara).

Axis Bank/Vistara is offering a fee waiver on the Axis Bank Vistara Infinite Credit Card now, as long as you spend INR 1,20,000 on the card within 90 days of your card being issued. This is an easy one if you sign up for this card because you will be spending INR 1,00,000 to pocket the 10,000 Club Vistara points, so this is just a little more. Your first-year fee will be reversed after completing the INR 1.2 Lakh spent. And the beauty of this promotion is that despite the reversal, you will still get the welcome benefits (business class ticket, 10K points, and Club Vistara Gold tier).

  1. Hi Ajay,

I filled up the application using the link on 19 th Dec. All procedures including Biometrics/ paperwork was done from my end. Received a message from the bank that card will be dispatched soon. After a week received an e mail that the card cannot be issued due to Banks policy. Waste of time indeed..!

I use Amex Platinum charge card/ Diners black/ Citi Prestige and HSBC premier .. even then Axis bank refused a card. Surprised

  2. Has anyone completed the application in the last few days? I have been trying since 14th Dec, but couldn’t initiate the application. Upon taking the first step of providing my name and mobile number, the bank’s website keeps showing an error message “Unable to generate OTP. Please try again later”. I currently hold the Axis MYZONE card.

      • I found a workaround. It is actually funny, and perhaps a indicator that their systems and processes aren’t that robust. I have a Axis MyZone card, and hence choosing the option of “Old customer”, which was taking me nowhere. On a flash, I tried “New customer” option and it works like a charm!

  3. @Ajay – Thanks very much for the write-up.

I am new to Airmiles / airline loyalty points. I am planning to start a lot of leisure travel in 2023 and hence looking at this segment of cards. Any guide on this for a beginner? Specific to this article, how much monetary value can be assigned to one CV point? I am asking this to evaluate the benefits of these cards.
Any inputs will be much appreciated.

    • @Mahadevan, you are, unfortunately asking the wrong question. There is no monetary value to the points, unlike the credit card points you may have seen. Different people will have different use cases, and hence, the value they manage to extract would be different.

      • Thanks for your prompt response.
To clarify, I obviously meant the implied or notional monetary value and not real monetary value, since like you point out there is none. Nevertheless, my question arises from the below three points.
        1. Most reviews do mention a “reward rate” of x% even for travel cards
        2. For RPs which do not offer conversion to cash, the conversion rate to gift vouchers like Amazon Pay gives an indirect monetary value. Eg. Axis EDGE points convert to 20 paise per point. That helps calculate a reward-earning rate.
        3. Even with airline miles/points, I believe the points needed for award flights can be used as a proxy. Eg. if the points needed for DEL-MON in economy class of the airline is 5,000 and the least tariff is 5,000. Then can’t we say one point is worth at least one rupee? Of course, this could vary widely, but should at least give a base value, shouldn’t it?

  4. the link in your article directs to a 3rd party website. but no where does it say on that site about the offer and the article as above. i would request you to kindly point us to the place where this offer is seen. else axis would anytime say that they didnt commit to it.
