American Express Platinum Charge Card holders are in for a new treat this winters. American Express was offering Marriott vouchers to ICICI Bank and IndusInd Bank network cardholders earlier this year during Diwali. Now, Amex Centurion Card and Amex Platinum Charge Cardholders get to lay their hands on these vouchers in the coming days with Amex Platinum Dining Marriott tieup.
American Express has recently upped the benefits on the Platinum Charge Card users. First and foremost, the users get a metal card now, instead of the plastic card. Then, the users also now get three times the Membership Rewards points on international spends these days. This is not a promotional offer, but a permanent change.
A new promotion launched late last week should also help Amex Charge Card holders get even more benefits from their Amex charge card spends during the winters.
American Express Centurion Cardmembers are going to get INR 20,000 worth of Marriott F&B vouchers when they are going to spend at least INR 50,000 in foreign currency spends (10 spends of INR 5,000) on their Amex Centurion Cards between December 20, 2018, and January 31, 2019.
Similarly, American Express Platinum Cardmembers are going to get INR 10,000 worth of Marriott F&B vouchers when they are going to spend at least INR 25,000 in foreign currency spends (5 spends of INR 5,000) on their Amex Centurion Cards between December 20, 2018, and January 31, 2019.
These vouchers are going to arrive in a physical form to the eligible cardmembers, at their registered addresses by April 30, 2019, and will be valid for dining through September 30, 2019, across most Marriott kitchens in India, apart from the following hotels which are not participating. Here are the T&C for Centurion and Platinum Card promotions.
I think this is a great promotion and perfectly timed for the holidays season when a lot of card members will be travelling. Not only do you get more Membership Rewards points, but more benefits as well via your Amex now. The dining vouchers in itself are about 40% benefits.
What are your thoughts on the new promotions from American Express? I hope you will be using these promotions.
Most likely voucher are valid only in India.
I bought a clubmarriot membership for 16k from Delhi JW aerocity and it was such a joke because of limited validity. No where in US or Europe can the card or vouchers be used but limited to only ASIA.
@AJAI I find it a interesting that you did not read the T&C and then blaming Marriott for it.
@ajay I got it offered over the counter with the manager saying its usable across Marriott network which was obviously not correct.
Non the less the card give 20% off all food everytime so used it quite a number of times in India. For US the Hilton membership works out cheaper.
By platinum card, I am assuming it does not include the jet plat/platinum travel/platinum reserve?
Does this offer hold for Jet Airways Platinum AMEX card?
I really doubt but I guess Ajay can confirm.
Normally it’s Amex Plat charge card only.

It maybe very helpful, if you / your team can compile a small spreadsheet / table for the ongoing FCY offers (Points / Cash Back / Discount / vouchers, etc) but various Card companies for everyone’s benefit. The current companies I am aware which is running for a few days are by Citibank, Axis Bank, Kotak Bank, & HDFC Bank.
