American Express has launched a new promotion to promote everyday spending on the American Express Platinum Card. This promotion is the second after American Express earlier promotion giving Double Amex Membership Rewards Points was launched earlier in April 2020. Here are all the details about the new Amex Platinum Cashback Offer.

Amex Everyday Spend offer: Get up to INR 18,000 cashback on Amex Platinum cards

The new promotion offers a 100% cashback for online & offline spends between May 27 and August 27, 2020. This offer is open for Platinum cardmembers for cards issued in India, and the maximum cap on the cashback is INR 18,000 through the promotion period. Payment needs to be made in Indian currency and is valid for purchases at the following e-retailers

• Flipkart.com
• BigBasket.com
• Ethoswatches.com
• Zomato.com

No cashback will be earned on purcgase of Flipkart gift cards. In addition to this, offline purchases at Ethos Watch Boutiques, SPAR, Home Centre, Lifestyle, Max and Splash will also be valid for the cashback offer. The list of stores where the offer is valid is here.

This offer is open only for primary card holders. To check your eligibility for this offer, cardholders must log in to their American Express online account, check under their Amex Offers and then save the offer on their card. There is no minimum spending amount, and 100% cashback will be applied every time until the INR 18,000 limit is reached.  The reimbursement should reflect in your billing statement within five working days.

Additionally, this offer can be stacked with the double Membership Rewards points offer, so all spend between now and July 20, 2020, with the participating brands should not only earn the cashback but also 2x points.

While I have received this offer on my Platinum charge card, the offer is not available on my Platinum Reserve card. Additionally, a lot of Platinum cardmembers haven’t yet received an email from Amex, but the offer is showing up in their account. The only catch to this promotion is, supplementary cards don’t count. So if you have a spend to make, make it on the primary card.

If you don’t have the American Express Platinum Card, maybe it is a good idea to apply now as you would perhaps still get the offer and a lot of time to use it if you get your card soon. With our offer, you get a 110,000 Membership Reward Points on completing a minimum spend.

Bottomline

This is an excellent promotion from American Express, where they are just not rewarding cardholders for high-value purchases but also allowing earning cashback on everyday grocery and essential spends. Coupled with last month’s offer, it just goes on to prove that American Express is trying to give as much value to their members while they are not travelling much and staying at home as well.
