Last Day: Get an Amex Card with bonus points and an Explorer Kit

American Express has been running a new promotion to round up the fiscal year end with many new credit/charge card issuances. With the snafus at Axis Bank Credit Cards, it might also be a great time to consider a new card for your wallet. Here are the details of the cards offered with an enhanced benefit.

The American Express Explorer Kit

Through May 30, 2024, American Express is offering a special promotion where apart from usual benefits, American Express is offering a special limited edition Explorer’s Kit when you apply through this link.

American Express Gold Card (6,000 bonus MR + Explorer’s Kit)

American Express Gold Card is an entry-level charge card from American Express. I’ve had it for over 13 years, and it has given me enough reasons to trust Amex with my business. Cardmembers cannot revolve credit in a charge card and must pay their bills in full at the end of every statement cycle. In exchange, the card has no pre-set spending limit (the algorithms dictate a soft limit, but it is fluid).

The American Express Gold Card offers Membership Rewards points for all your spending at 1 Point for every INR 50 spent. At the Amex Rewards Multiplier portal, it provides 5X points on all spends. The card has an easy proposition for everyone to make 1,000 bonus MR points every month, just by making six spends of at least INR 1,000 on the card during the month. Additionally, it offers points on fuel and utility spending, which many other cards have shut down recently.

The Membership Rewards points earned can be redeemed for the 18/24K Gold Collection or transferred to two hotel transfer partners or eight airline partners.

  1. How rigid is the city requirement? Does the city need to be shown in Permanent Address or can it be my office location?

My father is a U-HNI but the city in all his IDs is a tier 3 city. So he would be ineligible for these cards?
