American Express has launched a new Thanksgiving promotion, offering their cardmembers another opportunity to earn for their purchases via the American Express affiliated portal. We wrote about the American Express Reward Multiplier in detail here.

The American Express Reward Multiplier is a shopping portal that allows you to earn more reward points when you pass through the portal to your desired shopping site. The points on offer differ per card variant.

• American Express Centurion Card: 10X Points (6 Basic/INR 200 + 9X Bonus)
• American Express Platinum Card: 5X Points (1X Basic/INR 40 + 4X Bonus)
• American Express Platinum Reserve Credit Card: 3X Points (1X Basic/INR 50 + 2X Bonus)
• American Express Platinum Travel Credit Card: 3X Points (1X Basic/INR 50 + 2X Bonus)
• American Express Gold Card: 5X Points (1X Basic/INR 50 + 4X Bonus)
• American Express Membership Rewards Credit Card: 2X Points (1X Basic/INR 50 + 1X Bonus)
• American Express SmartEarn Credit Card and all other Cards issued by American Express: 2X Points (1X Basic/INR 50 + 1X Bonus)

The portal excludes all Corporate Cards and Cobrand Cards from earning more points. American Express allows you to make up to 25,000 bonus Membership Rewards points per month with the Reward Multiplier.

How does the American Express Rewards Multiplier Work?

American Express has launched a new promotion on the American Thanksgiving holiday, where they offer special bonus vouchers over and above the regular Rewards Multiplier special points for purchases made through December 4, 2022.

During this promotional period, American Express is offering additional gift vouchers over and above the reward points they usually offer members. Various products have different offers, so let me list them out for you per card product:

• American Express Centurion Card: 
  • Slab 1: Spend INR 75,000 and get an e-voucher worth INR 5,000. [Additional 6.66% Rewards]
  • Slab 2: Spend INR 1,50,000 and get an e-voucher worth INR 12,000. [Additional 8% Rewards]
• American Express Platinum Card:
  • Slab 1: Spend INR 75,000 and get an e-voucher worth INR 5,000. [Additional 6.66% Rewards]
  •  Slab 2: Spend INR 50,000 and get an e-voucher worth INR 3,000. [Additional 6% Rewards]
• American Express Platinum Reserve Credit Card
• American Express Platinum Travel Credit Card

• American Express Membership Rewards Credit Card

The best part of this promotion is that even vouchers will count towards the spending to fulfil this promotion. You will be able to choose your e-vouchers from the following brands on offer:

The qualifying spend(s) can be done across multiple transactions and different brands/categories through Reward Multiplier during the offer period. Spends on the Supplementary Card(s) will only be accounted for under the Basic Card. Spends will be considered based on the transaction initiation date. The initiated date will be when a transaction has been taken through Reward Multiplier.

The additional e-voucher will be fulfilled to your registered email address with American Express on or before April 30, 2023. From the time you receive the email, you will get six months to use the code Amex sends you to pick up your vouchers.

If you don’t have an American Express card, you can sign up for the Membership Rewards Card (First Year Free) or any other card you would like, and if you get it by next week, you can get in on this promotion.

Bottomline

This is a lucrative offer if you believe in the power of Membership Rewards points as I do, and I will indeed partake in this promotion over the weekend. While I don’t have the Centurion yet, I’m going to be able to take between 6-6.66% additional rewards.
