In January, American Express had to shut its Centurion Lounge at Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3 because GMR was reshaping the airport terminal to make space for international operations. Now, American Express has completed and launched the new lounge.
American Express launches new Centurion Lounge
American Express opened its new Centurion Lounge at Terminal 1 (T1), Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on March 30, 2026. The lounge is accessible to eligible American Express Card Members from India and around the world, subject to capacity and access policies. For Indian Cardmembers, that includes the American Express Platinum Metal Card and the American Express Centurion Card.

The lounge features a collection of bespoke artworks created exclusively for the space, celebrating the richness of Indian artistry. It includes a custom installation using traditional Batik techniques, interwoven with elements of the American Express legacy, alongside works by local artists. The lounge offers workspaces and dedicated zones for rest and relaxation, creating an environment that feels sophisticated and welcoming.

The seating area at The Centurion Lounge
The Centurion Lounge offers a curated menu with breakfast and lunch options, including live buffet counters, convenient on-the-go choices for busy travellers, and artisanal coffee to refresh and energise.

A full-service bar complements the experience, with a carefully curated, premium selection of wines and spirits. For those seeking focus or relaxation, the lounge features a dedicated quiet room, ideal for working or unwinding before a flight. Additional amenities include restrooms and dedicated changing and nursing facilities for added comfort and convenience. A distinct zone reserved exclusively for Centurion is seamlessly integrated within the lounge, further elevating the experience for our most premium Card Members.

In fact, EazyDiner Founder Kapil Chopra was in the lounge and posted a walkthrough on X.

The lounge, of course, looks lovely and should be a relief for everyone with an Amex Platinum Charge Card / Black Card, so that they don’t have to queue up at the massive queues of the Encalm Lounge.

Bottomline
American Express has unveiled the new lounge for Platinum and Centurion Cardmembers at Terminal 1 of Delhi Airport. The lounge is open 24 x 7 and accessible to both Indian and International Cardmembers. It is located near Gate Number 2 in the Security Hold Area (SHA).
