Akasa Air, which launched its international flights in 2024 with operations into Qatar, followed up by launching flights into Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and then Kuwait. The airline is now set to launch flights to its sixth international destination, and the first one outside of the Middle East.
Akasa Air to launch flights to Thailand.
Akasa Air has announced the addition of Phuket, Thailand, as its sixth international destination. Starting September 20, 2025, the airline will operate daily direct flights connecting Mumbai with Phuket. This launch marks Akasa’s foray into Southeast Asia.
This route has been in preparation since June 2025, and I’m unsure whether the delay in launch was due to plane unavailability or other factors.
Commenting on the announcement, Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Akasa Air, said,
