Air India reveals new membership kits for Gold and Platinum members of Maharaja Club, their loyalty programme

When Air India merged with Vistara, the airline also combined the Flying Returns programme into Club Vistara, renaming it Maharaja Club. The programme has been holding up well for over a year, but now it’s time to enhance it.

Air India reveals new kits for Maharaja Club Elite members

A few days ago, I had teased that Air India has a new kit in the works for elite members.

Air India has recently revealed those new kits for Gold and Platinum Tier members. The airline said,

The newly launched kit is especially designed to welcome Maharaja Club members to the Gold and Platinum tiers, as Maharaja Club’s way of invoking #ThatSpecialFeeling the underlying ethos of the loyalty programme. The kit is being progressively presented to patrons as they reach the Gold and Platinum status.

The image shows a collection of items displayed on a table. There is a black leather bag with a gold keychain attached, a deck of playing cards with some cards visible, a black zippered pouch, and a cardholder displaying a "Maharaja Club" membership card. Next to these is a brochure with the text "#ThatSpecialFeeling" and a logo. There is also a commemorative coin in a clear case, featuring an airplane design and the year "1932." The background is blurred with greenery.

What is inside the Maharaja Club Platinum Kits?

The Maharaja Club Platinum kits have been rolled out to members who entered the tier in November 2025. Some exciting additions are included that are better than the Vistara kits.

  • Leather folio: A custom-made leather folio by Nappa Dori featuring several utility pockets for your tech and travel accessories
  • Membership card: The Maharaja Club platinum membership card, in a new design.
  • Fridge magnet:  A souvenir fridge magnet, displaying the Air India Maharaja in his renewed avatar
  • Customised luggage tags: Two personalised luggage tags resembling your Maharaja Club membership card
  • Passport holder: A minimalist yet chic Nappa Dori passport holder to match the monogrammed leather folio.
  • Maharaja deck of cards: An exclusively designed deck of Maharaja playing cards
  • Commemorative brass medallion: A limited-edition brass medallion commemorating J. R. D. Tata’s historic first flight aboard the Puss Moth in 1932
The image shows a commemorative coin and its packaging. The coin is encased in a clear display case and features an engraving of an airplane with the text "Tata Airlines' Inaugural Flight" and "1932" on it. The packaging is a blue box with a circular design that includes a vintage photograph of a man in a cockpit, surrounded by the text "A Legacy Takes Flight."

The image shows a set of playing cards fanned out on a surface. The visible cards include the 5, 8, 2, King, and Queen of clubs, and the 4 of diamonds. One card features an illustration with the word "Australia" and a kangaroo. In the background, there is a blue box with the text "Air India Maharaja Club" partially visible.

What is inside the Maharaja Club Gold Kit?

The Maharaja Club Gold kit was launched in October 2025 for members who qualified for the tier in October 2025 or onwards. Here is what it includes:

  • Membership card: The first item in the kit is your Maharaja Club Gold membership card
  • Customised luggage tags: Two personalised luggage tags in elegant gold tones to reflect your membership status
  • Acrylic tea coasters: An assorted set of acrylic coasters – a collector’s item displaying the Maharaja in vintage Air India art
The image shows two round coasters with vintage Air India designs. The left coaster features cartoon illustrations of British guards in red uniforms and bearskin hats, with the word "London" above them. The right coaster depicts a stylized scene of people in traditional Japanese attire, with the word "Tokyo" above. Both coasters have "Air-India" written at the bottom. In the background, there are blurred plants and a mug.

As you can see, the difference between the Gold and Platinum Tiers is chalk and cheese, and perhaps rightly so. Also, the kits look familiar to those who were Club Vistara members towards the end, probably because Air India pulled in the learnings from Vistara (and the ex-Vistara team looks after loyalty). There is a lovely amount of nostalgia, and some good stuff for those who are Platinum members of the airline as well.

Bottomline

A new Air India Maharaja Club membership kit has been revealed for Gold and Platinum Tier members. The Platinum Tier kit is very impressive. The Gold kit is being sent out for those who qualified for the membership tier in or after October 2025. The Platinum Kit is being sent out for members who qualified on or after November 2025.

What do you think of the new membership kits from Air India Maharaja Club?

  1. My gold kit is in transit. Hoping to reach platinum in the next few months. Looking forward to the photos when you receive your platinum kit.

  2. Nappa Dori? Cost clearly wasn’t a consideration when this kit was put together. And like you said, rightly so. The medallion too is a very tasteful exclusive addition.

Looking forward to your hands-on experience and pictures.
