Air France-KLM’s Flying Blue loyalty programme is currently offering a paid status match promotion. Although this promotion has been available for some time, it has been geographically limited. There’s now an update, as this offer has been extended to customers in various new geographies, including India, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Flying Blue’s status match promotion

The matched status is valid for 12 months after the match is approved. This promotion has yet to publish an end date, though the company handling the match says only limited supplies of the status are available. The top-tier status is mapped to Flying Blue Platinum, the entry-level status to Flying Blue Silver, and so on.

  1. Air France does elite status soft-landings. So if you suspect you won’t re-qualify for any status but want status benefits longer, then paying up for Platinum will get you Platinum status for one membership year, Gold for one membership year and Silver for one membership year if FlyingBlue keeps with this policy of soft-landings.

  2. I did it last round, and will maintain the gold status if not go for platinum. It’s definitely well worth it for me since I travel to Europe multiple times per year.
