Air Canada launched Toronto to Delhi in 2015 as a non-stop flight. There was also an Air Canada Vancouver – Delhi non-stop flight started seasonally in 2016, which they repeated in 2017 as a seasonal flight again. They made Delhi to Vancouver flight year round from June 2, 2018. Air Canada will make it daily from June 2019. They subsequently added a flight between Toronto and Mumbai in 2017. Air Canada closed reservations for Mumbai to Toronto route after the winter schedule this year.
We had an intuition that Air Canada would launch it as a winter seasonal flight based on the passenger data. It is now confirmed by Air Canada. Air Canada Mumbai Toronto will be seasonal flights from October 27, 2019. They will operate a Boeing 777-200LR on this route. The route will be 3x weekly with the following schedule.
AC 046 YYZ 2140-2205 (+1) BOM 77L x246
AC 047 BOM 2345-0625 (+1) YYZ 77L x357
The route is blocked at 14h55m eastwards and 16h10m westwards. Air Canada currently operates a 4x weekly Boeing 777-200LR service on the Mumbai to Toronto route. So it represents a capacity decrease. It is more of an adjustment to make the route viable.
Currently, the flight is bookable only for a week from October 27, 2019, to November 4, 2019, as the schedule after that isn’t loaded into the GDS. Fares start at INR 93.7k roundtrip economy.
Premium Economy starts at INR 67k oneway and Business class starts at INR 1.4 lakhs oneway.
This news should tremendously help the Canadians who were hoping to be in Mumbai next year and now have a way to get here directly from Toronto again.
Are you content as Air Canada isn’t completely pulling out of the Mumbai to Toronto route?
I am (was) a frequent traveller on this route in premiere economy. Always seemed fairly full. The service wasn’t the best even in business. The food? Was the worst ever had on a flight. Will miss this flight. Back to Turkish and Lufthansa
