Ahmedabad Airport to be shut for 9 hours daily through May 31, 2022

The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, will be shut for nine hours a day for recarpeting work between January 17 and May 31, 2022.

A section of the airport has been shut for scheduled runway renovation work. The re-carpeting work of the runway will take place every day, except for Sundays and public holidays from 9 AM to 6 PM. The Airport took to Twitter to announce this earlier this week.

Because of the runway work, about 52 arriving and departing flights will have their schedule changed or cancelled. However, this could be of lesser impact now because flight occupancies have drastically dipped, and airlines are clubbing many flights in many cases.

Bottomline

If you are scheduled to fly into or out of Ahmedabad, take note and recheck your flight tickets if you were booked far out. From 9 am to 6 pm, no flights will arrive or depart from the airport six days a week, Monday to Saturday through May 31, 2022.

Have you heard from your airline if you were scheduled to fly to Ahmedabad about any changes to your flight plans?
