Pick up 5,000 Miles free for signing up with Aegean Miles+Bonus programme for Star Alliance flights

The coming years will see airlines lure frequent flyers back into their fold, and we are just starting to see some of these flares going up already. A couple of airlines are inviting new member registrations and giving away a large number of miles to sign up. Not just that, they are giving away miles which are good for one-way awards. Aegean Miles and Bonus is one of them.

Aegean Miles and Bonus offering a new member registration bonus till December 1, 2020

The Greek member of Star Alliance, Aegean, is offering a straight-up 5,000 award miles to new members signing up with the airline’s loyalty programme Miles+Bonus by December 1, 2020. You also get a bonus of 1,000 Elite Miles with the signup. These miles credit as soon as you sign up, no questions asked. Here is a screengrab when I registered myself to this programme earlier today.

These miles don’t expire for at least 60 months, even if you don’t credit a flight from Aegean airlines till then, so that is a long time for you to use up the miles in the coming years. Additionally, you can credit flights from other Star Alliance member airlines to Aegean as well.

Why do you want to consider Aegean Miles and Bonus programme?

There are many reasons to consider signing up for Aegean’s Miles and Bonus programme, but Star Alliance membership is one of them. Membership in Miles + Bonus gives you access to earning and burning across the entire gamut of 29 Star Alliance member airlines. A second reason is, it is much easier to become a Star Alliance Gold member here than with, let’s say, Air India, which is wrapped up in bureaucracy. You need to do 48,000 elite miles to get to Star Alliance Gold tier, and the lounges and the perks open up for you.  Not just that, there is a very nice Star Alliance award redemption chart which has some reasonable redemption rates. (India comes under Near East & Central Asia, in case you were wondering). The below-mentioned chart is a round-trip award chart, so one-way tickets cost half the number of miles here.

The 5,000 miles you earn, are good enough on their own for an intra-Greece flight, in case you are planning to head there in the years ahead.

Bottomline

Aegean is offering 5,000 award miles for new members to sign up for the programme in the coming days, up till December 1, 2020. Sign up here and receive your miles right away.

  1. Hello! I also got 1000 points only and the fine print is either
pure nonsense or it is lost it translation:

How do you complete your registration twice??
it boggles my mind that people who create such confusion
actually do get paid a salary!

    Terms and conditions:
    • The offer is valid for new Miles+Bonus registrations or Basic account upgrades that will take place from 20.11.2020 (00:00, Greece time) up until 01.12.2020 (23:59, Greece time) through aegeanair.com and the Aegean app.
    • The 5,000 miles refer only to award miles, that have no expiration date according to the program’s terms and conditions.
    • Upon registration completion, the member gets 1,000 tier miles.
    • The extra award miles will be automatically credited to the Miles+Bonus account upon completion of the Miles+Bonus registration.

  2. Strange. I got just 1000 award miles. T&C during registration says other 4000 will be credited before 15/12/20.

How did you get the 5000 immediately on registration?
